DA DUM! DA DUM! DUM DA DUM DA DUM DA!!!!

My Uncle who has a vacation home in North Carolina's Outer Banks said there have been a lot of shark attacks this year up the southern eastern coast including NC. There was one in the village where he stays a few weeks ago.

You can always book the Silverton and swim in their pool.

............... and just maybe even hit a Royal too.

Rick

I thought it was the theme from SportsCenter.
Shark sightings are a weekly occurrence here on Florida's East Coast, just behind rafts & floating '51 Chevy Pickups.

Theme from Dragnet: "Dum-dee-DUM-DUM, . . . Dum-dee-DUM-DUM, . . . DUUUUUM."

For comparison, . . . Ref: TelevisionTunes - Jaws

Jaws needs a bit less bass more treble. Especially art the end.

Bruce had a problem with just all bass, so he had it changed after filming.

I've never been attacked (knock on wood) but I see sharks while surfing all the time and it scares the crap out of me. The closest to death once happened to me out at Diamond Head in Hawaii. I was sitting on my board waiting for a wave set during the lull between sets, true story by the way. It was a good day with wave heights around 4' to 8'. The waves tend to break further out the bigger the waves gets so I was further out than normal. Just by chance the yellow colored Honolulu fire dept (HFD) helicopter flew by but made an abrupt u-turn and hoovered about 30 feet directly above me. The co-pilot hand-gestured something to me, I waved back thinking he was saying hello. The pilot then turned on his loud speaker and said, "There is a large tiger shark right next to you!" I nearly crapped in my pants. I paddled in as fast as I could. Later I realized that the co-pilot was trying to alert me of the shark by holding his hand up as if to resemble the fin of the shark. I am forever grateful to the HFD for taking the time to make that u-turn for they could have easily continued on their way and I would have been a goner.

OMG!!! Glad they turned to get your attention! Really frightening!

I wonder if people know that the events that Jaws was based on were the shark attacks in New Jersey. I guess a Great White swam up the Manawan River and started attacking swimmers. I think it killed or maimed about 5 people before he went back out to seas.
Matawan River. Not to be confused with the Manasquan River.
Every summer there are great whites off the coast of Chatham, not Boston. They follow the seals. They tend not to close the beaches but to put out warnings not to go near any seals. I don't think there have been any attacks on humans, but I'm not sure...

Not only do we have great whites, but we had the bear swim the canal and hang out for a couple of weeks. My mum was scared to sit on the patio!
