If I'm in someone else's hotel room, someone I just met and know nothing about, and I'm counting out thousand of dollars I'm either buying drugs, selling drugs and counting up stolen loot.

Dancer said, ". . . When I got back to my room I found another $2,500 ticket. . . "

He didn't have millions of dollars in his pockets, he had less than $40,000 and he just accidently misplaced a $2,500 TITO and didn't notice? I don't believe that for a second.

Mr. Dancer is obviously not giving us the whole story.

Like maybe some hookers were brought to the room.

Totally agreed.

You've made some terrible choices in life if you find yourself in a Vegas hotel room divvying up cash with someone you don't know.

Can't generate any sympathy for someone like that if later it is all goes badly.

yeah, but if you lost that $12.75 TITO you wouldn't cry about it.

Still, I'm more curious why you defend Dancer with such gusto. Who is he to you?
I began in this thread complaining that Dancer's column was annoying, and I have since agreed that Dancer was both foolish and vindictive. Can't you just smell the hero worship?

And I don't do gusto; I do ridicule. And I ridicule stupid statements here (i.e. "trying to avoid taxes") for the same reason I ridicule Rob Singer's pronouncements.

This would be okay if it was for a few days, but he did it for a while before getting a small apartment. Unless he is totally frugile, that doesn't look to be the traits of someone who is fairly wealthy.

You defend this guy too much. Mr. Dancer isn't giving the whole story here.
Have you ever seen Warren Buffett's very nice upper middle class residence in Omaha? And Michael Bloomberg's girlfriend, who is wealthy on her own, rides the New York subway. Some classy people of means don't have the need to bolster their self esteem with symbols of opulence. I'm sure you would make different choices, Roulette Man.

And actually I covered this topic two and a half years ago when I wrote, "While through the years others players, who were possibly every bit as good, celebrated their royals, Dancer BANKED his - to build bankroll. In his columns, books, and classes, he advises players to get second jobs, pay off credit cards, and reading books like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad." And of course to always build bankroll, and avoid spending winnings.

You defended him on what he did with his ex-wife. Dancer is a sleazeball and so are you for acting like what he did wasn't wrong. You are just a petty little man.

So when you claimed that having the guy cash the TITO was a tax dodge it was really about the divorce and when you claimed Dancer wasn't really giving us the whole story it was really about the divorce and when you claimed that Dancer wasn't really financially well-off it was really about the divorce.

Did I get that right?

WOW.

This is the singular most intelligent statement I have yet to read on this topic.

Because, really, how low can you sink in life if this in fact happened as described in the column.

You never get it right. In your usual disingenuous way, you write something that I didn't say. I didn't accuse him of it, I rightfully offered a speculation of why he did it. Your defending him on what he did to his wife, shows the board you basically have no moral character.

Right, you weren't saying Dancer is a criminal, you were just asking.

So Roulette Man: is your mother a whore?' What? I'm not saying she's a whore. I'm just wondering out loud if she is a whore. All I'm saying is that reasonable people who have banged your mother for money can disagree.*

*Jon Stewart ridiculing people who turn outrageous accusations into questions, so they can later claim they were just speculating.
Okay, here's something you guys can really freak out over. Bob Dancer once reported collecting over $50,000 of gambling loot in the Four Queens men's room, when he and another guy squeezed into a restroom stall together.

A couple of degenerates, right?
