Does anybody on this board own one of those collapsible garden hoses

The original hose is supposed to be called "the X hose". I'm thinking about buying one purely for the lesser storage space. Does anybody own one, and if so, how do you like it?

Just bought one. It seems to work as advertised.
Who cares if it works? If you order in the next ten minutes, we'll double your order! just pay extra shipping and handling.....
I remember watching the infomercial and then looking up reviews online. They were full of people who said the hose sprung leaks and was easily torn when you dragged it around yard objects (like concrete edging, retainer walls, etc). I have no first hand experience with one.

I have the 25ft one and had no problems! Works great!
Wow - a 25 foot one....bragger!

Then this should be your new avatar.

A fishing buddy keeps one on his boat and uses it to wash things down at the marina, especially after the boat and motor have been in salt water. Obviously it is not a heavy duty item, but the hose works well and might be worthwhile to buy if storage space is a consideration.

Another fishing buddy saw the collapsible hose, which is very light, and bought one for his wife to use to water the garden. As we age, the weight of tools matters more.

I am of the old school. I have a set of good quality large diameter rubber hoses. They sit out in the sun all season and get dragged all over the place. They are heavy but I have never had to patch or replace one, aside from replacing the worn brass couplings on one after 40 years.

For the X Hose they have a heavy duty version now. I'm strong enough to carry a rubber hose, I just find hassles with them including crimping, rolling them back up and storing.
I bought one a few weeks back. So far, no problems with tearing or leaks. In fact, it's great, light weight and very easy to manuever. Just remember to make sure it is entirely empty (meaning don't store it full of water) before shutting off the water supply or the built up pressure can cause the hose to rip. It actually does curl up neatly and easy to store as the water empties. $22.00 at Walmart.
