Early check in question

We just booked for Harrahs NO and I asked about the early check in fees. She said $30 before 4PM. We'll be leaving our bags at the bell desk.

Never paid an early check in, or even had it mentioned, and the flight I am usually on lands around 11AM. I go straight to the hotel and straight to check in from the airport. I have once or twice had my room not be ready yet.

I was not charged an early check in fee at Flamingo in December. Comped room.

Seem's like a ridiculous idea. Check in get's crazy enough sometimes and now at 4:00 the lines will be unbelieveably long.

Another bad PR idea by the suits at CET. We checked into our comped room at Paris at 1:30 and were not asked to pay an early check-in fee. I did over hear other people being charged the fee.

Not much difference than the banks these days either, Fees for every single little thing they can (and do) get away with. Everyone's welcome to vote differently with their wallets.
Melbedewey has an excellent point, I know I'd be steaming if I knew rooms were ready and had to stand there for an hour or whatever(assuming I didn't feel like doing ANYTHING elsetil check-in) so they could chisel an extra 30 bucks off me.
I know places like ellis island do the same thing, doesn't matter if a bunch of tables are ready, you gotta hang out in the casino for awhile til they call you but I don't mind. I like the casino and the food is good and cheap, I take it as part of the deal.

BTW The big banks are practically legal theives and I'd never put a nickel in any of 'em.They fee you to death THEN bend you over some more and they have the worlds shittiest customer service(well next to big tech co.s). Unfortunatley kinda hard not to deal with a big tech co. if you own a computer.
