Ah yes, Earth Day ... originally a celebration of Lenin's birthday.

BTW, I make sure to turn on all my lights to celebrates man's technological achievements, driven by cheap energy, that have made the developed world what it is today. Sadly, there are many watermelons that want to change that.

I saw posters for this when I was in Canada last week. I've seen nothing about it in the USA.

I'm sure there are many in the world who would say "Allahu akbar!" to that sentiment.

In that vein, I hear Fidel Castro has declared Thursday as "Don't Drink a Half Gallon of Bleach Day", in which people come together to celebrate Castro's life's work by making sure not to drink an entire half gallon of bleach.

In Canada we were actually able to celebrate this without shouting "Allahu akbar!" or "Don't Drink a Half Gallon of Bleach Day" - it is starting to become clearer on which side of the parallel the extremists reside - but that is just one opinion!
