El Cortez to add resort fee

El Cortez to add resort fee

Guarantee you that the downtown Boyd casino's will be next.
Fitness center? Is that what they are calling the staircase to the 2nd floor?
Don't you have to a resort to charge a resort fee?
The gouging continues and will continue until visitation declines. Another "resort" to cross off of my list of places to stay.

Sorry ELCO have just never thought of you as a "resort destination"!

have never actually "walked" into the place and certainly don't think I will now.

There is a fitness center in the building where the Cabana Suites are.

I see this point being made often when a hotel starts implementing resort fees. You may be surprised to learn that by the exact definition of "resort", it technically is:

re·sort
noun
a place to which people frequently or generally go for relaxation or pleasure, especially one providing rest and recreation facilities for vacationers.

Whatever "word" the casinos now use to describe their business, anyone with any brains realizes that adding a word such as "resort" is only done so that the casino can charge more for their rooms. Kind of like a janitor referring to themselves as a "sanitation engineer" and expecting to receive more pay for doing the same job. It is just a money grab.

I don't approve of resort fees. I just thought that anyone inquiring about whether or not a hotel is a "resort" might be interested in knowing the answer. It comes up every time a new resort fee is put into place.
If they implement this, I would like to hear the response from the Resv.
agent after informing you they have a Resort Fee, and then you say
" Ok, I would like a Poolside room "

Easy. The reply would be "Then we'll have you in a room facing the Golden Nugget".

Not trying to be a smart ass, but I'll start a 1 question questionnaire and you can answer by raising a hand.
(Q):How many here don't know of resort fees by LV hotels?
Just what I thought.

Thank you for your time.
