The End-of-the-World, . . . next week?

Perhaps the usually well-informed LVA members are already aware of the recently publicized prediction of the end-of-the-world based upon interpretation of the Mayan calendar.



DonDiego has been aware of the subject prediction for some time. And his original fears have been assuaged over the last several months by numerous debunkers detailing all sorts of reasons why the prediction is likely inaccurate.
So, . . . as many others, . . . poor old DonDiego came to the opinion that the world is most unlikely to end on 21 December after all.

But now the US Government has weighed in on the matter, . . . most particularly the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Specifically, NASA has released a video 'splainin' jes why the world won't end.

So NOW, DonDiego is again concerned about TEOTWAWKI. Why?
1. An agency of the US Government has instructed DonDiego not to worry; this makes DonDiego worry.
2. Although NASA's video is clearly intended to have been released on 22 December it has been released early. If the world were, in fact, not going to end on 21 December why would the Government release the video early ? ? ?

Well if it is truly the end at least I'll be in the right place. My plane lands in Vegas at 10am Dec 21.

Unfortunately the Winter Solstice, and the End-of-the-World-As-We-Know-It, occurs at 3:12am PST. There may well be no place to land.

I feel fine.

This is quite worrying. If the earth actually does end as forecast, will I get my deposits back?

That would be about the way my luck runs, "Day Late and a Dollar Short"

What are we supposed to do with coupons that expire Dec. 31 or later?

Just my luck. I start a 2 week vacation Dec. 22.
