Ever been ripped off/scammed in Vegas?

Bob Dancer is de vp professional that's well known. People buy his books and go to his seminars. Rob Argentino changed his "vp stage name" into Rob Singer as a clear provocation to Bob Dancer. Since the early days of vp he's been slamming Dancer every chance he gets. People wake up: you have Rob Singer among you without a doubt. I know his writing style and he's repeating exactly the same things (in the same words) as he's written on other forums. He's had different accounts at different forums so many times (after being kicked out at almost every one as well) he knows how to mislead people into believing he's someone else. Have a look at MoneyLa's forum and do a search for Rob Singer's posts and you'll see who Albeadle really is: A lying sack of shit!

How do you really feel?

C'mon, you can tell us.

We're ALL friends here. Right?

The guy who writes the LVA column, Bob Dancer. The column this thread is about is riddled with sexual innuendos by a disgraced dirty old man who's in his 70's. Ask him to write about what he did to Shirley, then guess how long his new relationship will last. He's as bizarre a personality as you'll find in the gambling world.

I beg to differ

I think he was referring to people who only have a single bizarre personality. The others are in a category all by themselves.

Wasn't I clear enough?

I have no problem with calling a spade a spade.

I mind my drinking in Vegas. I definitely imbibe...but never beyond the point of losing my judgement. I think many of the con-artists and thieves target drunk tourists (especially men). Staying sober is a massive deterrent IMO.

What fun is that, especially while on vacation, especially in Vegas.

What is this "staying sober" that PJ speaks of?
I was at the Stardust bar near the entrance playing VP when the NFR was in town. I was doing pretty well and these were the days that the machines still paid in coins. A good looking lady sat down next to me and I could tell she was a real hustler.....not a pro...but a hustler. She kept turning around in her chair looking at the cowboys sitting at the tables behind us. She then asks the bartender for a $5 roll of quarters just as I cashed out. When the bartender told her they didn't sell $5 rolls, she turne to me and asked if I would sell her $5 worth of quarters. I counted out the quarters and gave them to her expecting her to give me the $5 bill she held in her hand. But she just started playing the quarters and kept telling me to wait. WAIT!!! For what? Wind up was she never gave me $5 and she slipped it back in her purse. I thought I might call security, but I was up plenty of money and just decided to just take the loss and not make a big deal over it.
I would have been quit pissed.

On Fremont St, was approached by a "soiled maiden" as I was taking a break from the poker game in Binion's. This was in 2009.

I'd been to the Gamblers Book store that day, and purchased some "fantasy" casino chips. I had a couple "sets" for two or three different places. They had cost me $0.25 each.

She offered me a "good time", and I explained that I had no cash, only a few casino chips in my pocket. I showed her a green and a black chip from the "Pyramid Casino", and she told me she would accept those!

Asked where I was staying, I told her Binion's, and she acted eager to go to my room. Guess so, thinking it was $125. LOL

I was going to be in Vegas another 4-5 days, so politely declined. Told her "not tonight, maybe next time."

Believe me, I was very very tempted to scam that "soiled maiden" with those fantasy chips. In a way, I sort of regret not making a deal, and getting cash change back for the black chip. Just not brave enough, she may have had a "pimp", etc. Probably STD also. And, I'd have had to take her to my room.

Interesting thread this one... on many counts. In any case, yes, I was tunnelled in a cab on my first Vegas visit... but once I started reading LVA I wised up fast and insist on no tunnels whenever I visit Vegas now. LVA forums rock - and the people on here are generally awesome!
Navigating a crowd in the retail space between Venetian and Palazzo a few years ago, I was jostled by a pickpocket team. The guy in front of me stopped short for no apparent reason, turned his head slightly and apologized. Simultaneously, I felt a hand on my right shoulder and a furtive intrusion in my back left pocket. Both men immediately drifted into the crowd, one trailing the other. They were gone before I could react. (I keep my cash on a clip in a front pocket.)

I had an emerging ticket snatched at Luxor once. I don't recall what distracted me, but when I looked back I realized I was waiting for a ticket that had already been removed. I saw no one. A ghost would have been more noticeable.
