Ever lock yourself out?

Was at Monte Carlo once and had connecting rooms with another couple. We had the door latch on the door in our room and went into the connecting room thru the connecting doors waiting for them to get ready to go down to the casino. We left by their room door and were down stairs until midnight when the they went back to their room we stayed downstairs another hour then went upstairs. We could only open the door to our room a crack then it would hit the latch so we knocked on the other couples room so we could back thru the connecting doors but they had pulled the door shut. So we had them call security and explain what happened. I thought that they would bring a bunch of tools to open the door but five minutes later a security guy comes walking down the hall with only a do not disturb sign the kind that hangs from the doorknob. He bends the sign back one fold takes the key opens the door slides the sign in then closes the door and the sign bend back straight flipping the latch open. I said to the guy "I guess this is not the first time you have done this? He replied "Happens all the time" Tip him $10 and went to bed.
FWIW:

A Dr friend here in my town has a brother who works in Vegas as a locksmith for the Bellagio... spends most of his time going around replacing 9-volt batteries inside the guest room door locks... turns out that is what makes the pass card work.
Locked ourselves out of a room, ID and all, at Caesars. Had to go downstairs and report it...I forget what desk. She called it in, said go back up. Waited what seemed like a long time. Guy with a sourpuss look on his face, and personality to match, (we know, we're idiots and sorry to have bothered you...but hey, be glad you've got a job, a-hole) shows up.

He says we have to show him ID first. Well, OK but the ID is inside the room. Guy unlocks door, he and I wait outside while husband retrieves ID. The look and personality improved greatly when he saw the tip coming.

When I was 14 and babysitting I locked myself and their 4 y/o boy out with baby girl inside asleep. I was petrified. The little boy was smart and knew of a window that could be opened and I boosted him in. I didn't tell the parents. Don't know if he did, but they did ask me back for more babysitting.
