Expressions/Slang from the Past

I thought I might try something a little different. Let's see if we can get at least to page 2 before it turns political okay?

What expressions and or slang that your grandparents, parents or yourself used to use are no long in vogue?

My Grandmother used to say "gas the lights" and "Hoover the rugs" (I guess that second one tells you what marketing can do).

Or even regional slang if you want to call it that. Like "wicked" from the Boston area as in wicked bad, wicked good, etc. Probably a lot of these from our non-US based contributors I'm sure.
My daughter is 21 and she refers to money at "bread" and when life is good, things are "groovy". Ya dig?
Whoaaa.

My favorite : "Slicker than duck s**t on a linoleum floor "

Bob

Bummer, drag, far out, dig it, burn rubber, lay a patch, turkey, split.

These are just a few I used on a regular basis in the early 70's

I never understood this one "lot's of meat but no potatoes" that someone in 8th grade said her dad used to use.

I guess it meant she wasn't gifted up top but her behind was fine?
