Tampon earrings to Protest what?
Protesters against the Texas legislation to regulate/limit abortion had schemed to enter the legislative chamber armed with tampons with which they intended to pelt legislators whom they oppose.

DonDiego realizes this explanation does not actually explain why unlimited-abortion proponents link tampons with terminating pregnancy, . . . pr'bly something about keeping the law out of their uteruses, . . . or something.

Hey, it could've been worse - they could've been used.

I think women are a little upset about the small government champions of Texas deciding to force women to engage in a littany of hurdles and unecessary medical procedures to pursue an abortion. Also, the new laws are expected to shut down over 50 (all but 4) abortion clinics in the entire state of Texas.

I know its a little bit petty... a proud "libertarian" government making decisions for women on what to do with their own bodies. I mean its not like they're really doing something dramatic like putting a limit on soft drink sizes.

Couldn't have said it better myself P.J. !

Here we have a state (Texas) who champions itself as the state of "small government".........and this state is having men (who are in government) in $5,000 tailored suits and $500 hair cuts telling women what they can and can't do with their bodies.

Not a big fan of Texas

I think what the "political leaders" In Texas are saying is that you can't murder a baby that is far enough along in life that it can live on it's own outside the womb.

Unless the mother is standing her ground.....

Here are some of the requirements of the new law...

...requires doctors performing abortions to have hospital admitting privileges...
Hospitals only grant admitting privileges to doctors who refer a significant number of patients to that hospital. And abortion doctors rarely refer patients to hospitals because there is rarely any need to do so, since legal abortions are overwhelmingly incident free.

So in effect, Texas abortion clinics will be closed because they are too safe.
