Favorite restaurants in these cities

When you are in Albuquerque I suggest you stop in for breakfast at the Frontier restaurant on Central Ave. A colorful place with great food and atmosphere, a lot of John Wayne artwork on the walls.

Spring Break 2000 !!!
In Kansas City, DonDiego recommends Oklahoma Joe's Bar-B-Que, . . . the original gas station location at 3002 West 47th Avenue, . . . less than a mile into the State of Kansas.

The barbecue is delicious and DonDiego loves the casual atmosphere; if DonDiego likes it, it'll be great for a 10-year-old.
The options in Nashville are endless. For breakfast go to Loveless Cafe. Be warned that if you go on a weekend you can expect an hour wait or longer unless you get there right when they open at 7. Loveless is a little bit of a drive from Belmont, probably 20 minutes, but well worth the trip. Their dinner is very good as well and you can order breakfast all day. Pancake Pantry is also a good spot that is just down the street from Belmont. Be prepared to stand in line for a table.

The best lunch spot in town is Arnold's. Anyone who argues otherwise has never eaten at Arnold's. Rare roast beef and chicken and dumplings are my favorites but everything they make is top notch. They open at 11 and are full by 11:15 so get there early. They are only open for lunch on weekdays. They are about 5 minutes from Belmont.

The best local bbq joint is Martin's, and luckily for you they just opened a location on Belmont Blvd. this week. Go for the whole hog when available, otherwise get the redneck tacos.

I believe all 4 of these places have been featured on Food Network at some point so if you google them you should be able to pull up the episodes. All of these places are good for kids.

If you have any questions when you get here, just send me a message and I will send you my cell number.
Thanks so much, Camp I'll check them out. Wonderful recommendations.

We're actually staying at one of the airport hotels. My son and I will be in town for only 1 full day, plus the evening before, but my wife and mother-in-law are staying an extra three days. I'll pass the recommendations on to them

There are several good Italian restaurants in the Hill area of St Louis with two of my favorites being Cunetto House of Pasta and Anthoninas. If you're only looking for a sandwich Gioia's Deli on the hill is the spot and a quick stop at Missouri Baking Company for cannolis or other fresh baked goodies would make for fond memories of the Gateway City.

Crown Candy Kitchen is in a sketchy part of downtown St Louis but have great shakes/malts and a pretty famous BLT sandwich. They also have chocolate that would appeal to the kids. It would be a great place for lunch if you're passing through at that time. They have been on a few of the tv shows as well with their malt challenge.

Oklahoma Joes and Jack Stack are both excellent BBQ recommendations for KC as well. The original Joes near the Plaza in the gas station has more character, but the Leawood location is much larger and can handle the crowds better.
Had to add Provo, Utah to my list of stops on this trip. Though I'm not holding out much hope for good BBQ there.
