For a change, some gambling chit-chat.

albeadle33=Rob Singer I'm not understanding this comment. There is a similar writing style maybe?

Thanks. I really miss having a true four seasons like the rest of the US experiences but I do love living in Florida. There is a lot to be said being surrounded by water when you love to offshore fish. Taking a cruise is a piece of cake when the port is a short drive from your home. The fact that I am already picking fruits and veggies says a lot also.

Oh man , you bite the big one dude, I'm so jealous. We drove up to WVa today to see the wife;s family and it was SNOWING WITH HOWLING WINDS! that were completely brutal to deal with. I don't think I've ever been so tired of winter my life.

BTW any extra room at the inn, need a place to to rehab my hand, warm weather would be great for it! j/k (kinda )
Anyone else get their tax returns back yet? For the first time since 2006, my "coin in" dictates that I have to pay taxes on my gambling. I had P & Ls from six different casinos. but we couldn't find enough "Ls" this year to cover it. I've been a frequent gambler since 1993 but this is only the third time I've had to pay taxes on my...er, hobby.

My new accountant just about fell over when she saw the amount. She suggested paying in some extra for next year to cover it (which means she doesn't understand it a bit). Her more experienced partner and I just shared a wink and a "no, I don't think that will be necessary" moment.
Lightning doesn't strike twice - at least not more than once every eight years for me. I'll take the bet that I won't be paying gambling taxes again next year since the odds are definitely in that favor.

maybe I need to call that 800 number on the back of my player's card

Congrats on the win(s)! Just do what I do. Cheat.

(Just kidding. That comment is made for those who think I do anyway.)

Good CPAs are worth their weight in returns.

I'm sorry for your loss. Whoops, I mean I'm sorry for your win.

And if anyone is tempted to make up losses, remember Benford's law. Sometimes they can figure it out when you make up numbers.

I am one of the people who think you are a tax cheat. We think that because you admitted it yourself.

That you just wrote what you did today suggests you have a conscience, fighting to be heard. Perhaps soon it'll win the battle with your greed.

Well there goes this thread.
I never cheat on my taxes. I obey the law in every way. The risk of cheating is too great.
As I said in that post. It's HOW you do it. KNOW the law and follow it.
Famous tax cheats who were similarly certain that they hadn't broken the law:

Most tax cheats get away with it. Doesn't make them any less of a tax cheat.

Actually, you're also guilty of voter registration fraud, because your legal domicile is where you actually live. Or do you have a different definition?
