free drinks while playing VP

Hello,
Okay, I am cheap....I have not been to Vegas in 5 years, and I am going in March 2013.... Do the casinos still offer free drinks for playing VP ( tips of course ), and if so, which casinos? Thanks alot...

Q. "Do the casinos still offer free drinks for playing VP"

A.

Q. "and if so, which casinos?"

A. :All

Rick
Not Wynn or Encore... (if sitting up at the bar that is)
All except Wynn at their VP bars. Comso makes some real nice cocktails.

Was recently checking pay schedules at a bar at Sunset Station, and the bartender asked me if I wanted a drink. Usually say no, but this time I was thirsty, and ordered a cranberry juice. Set down a dollar tip and started to leave. The bartender asked if I was going to play there, and I said that I was still thinking about it. Bartender said that if I left with the drink, it would cost if I recall either $2.50 or $3.50. So I decided to stay and play, even though the game was well below 100%.

Found the whole situation a little unsettling, and wonder if this is usual. The only explanation I can think of is that the drinking glass was actually glass rather than plastic, and may have had monetary value.
Just sit down at a bank of VP machines and start playing. A waitress will be by to take your drink order. Tip and smile.

If you're just looking to get loaded then go buy a bottle.

AA meetings throughout Vegas if you have a problem with alcohol.

Free drinks if you're playing. They don't want to just give drinks away. This is common at every VP bar in ever casino I've been to.

Even non-alcohol?
Seems a good solution to the above would be: Sit at the VP machine, put 1 quarter ( or whatever ) at a time, and gobble (?) the drink then leave....IMHO...also, why can't you just move to another area?
At the time I was REALLY thirsty, and already had the drink in hand when he informed me of that condition. Might have played minimal coin, but wanted to get on the casino's mailing list, and figured moderately heavy play on a -EV game might help.
