free drinks while playing VP

I see said the blond man ( well at one time I was blond ), as he picked up his hammer and saw...
I never had a problem getting free drinks while playing VP - but I don't play at the bar.
I was playing once at MGM and a group next to me ordered 8 drinks and told the waitress that they would "get her next time"
Maybe I had had a couple too many because I told them they would get her now or go play somewhere else, because I wasn't going to spend the rest of the evening trying to catch a server. Luckily, (for me and for the server ) they went to the change machine and gave her a tip.

It depends on the location, but most places will comp drinks only if you are playing full coin and have at least $20 in the machine, (As I recall, less downtown).
My husband doesn't gamble but sits by me sometimes while I'm playing VP. The CWs always ask both of us if we want a drink. We tip accordingly, but they don't know at the outset.

At bar tops you have to be playing max bet with usually $20 in to get comp drinks. The floor is different. This is on the strip. I believe downtown is the same now.
As mentioned, the Wynn and Encore don't comp drinks at the bar. If you go 20 feet away at a machine on the floor, you get all the drinks you want. I'm sure the bartenders at the bar are still pissed at Wynn for having this policy. I wonder what the turnover is at the bars?
Even if I wasn't drinking, I don't believe I'd sit down and play at a place that didn't offer free beverages, just on principal.

I will not be playing on the Strip ( odds ), mostly at the following: Orleans, Gold Coast, Palms, Ellis Island, and Sam's Town, perhaps Suncoast. Am I to assume the free drinks are off the Strip at these joints? Since I have you folks attention, any one of the previous casinos have the better VP? Thanks. ( not trying to be a d===, but how can the waitresses tell if you are playing max bets? Just curious. )
On the floor it doesn't matter, the waitress don't know, and don't care, if you are playing max.
It's not their job to police the VP machines to see if you're playing max bets. That's the bartenders job if they choose to enforce the rule.

Most casinos nowadays, have about the same paytables for VP. One thing nice about the Silverton if you like playing progressive jackpots, is they have a back up jackpot on all their progressives. So if you're playing the .25c progressive at the Mermaid bar for example, and the jackpot is about $2000, and it gets hit, it may reset to around $1350 instead of going down to the $1000 minimum. This is true for all the progressives in the casino.

Sam's Town has a bank of 100% payback on Deuces Wild and DBP and DDB in front of the Dunkin Donuts store. I believe that Stations Casinos also has some 100% pay tables spread around the various casinos.
