Getting to Reno???

SF or even Oakland (which would be a little closer) would be good, you could stop at North Lake Tahoe, or Truckee for a night

I remember when Reno Air first started, they had trips from LAX to Reno for $39. Since I had never been there, I started going to Reno for a couple of nights instead of Vegas. The more they let these airlines merge, the higher the prices are going to be. I think Reno Air was taken over by American Airlines not too long after they started.

I miss Reno Air. They flew non-stop from my hometown airport, and you could upgrade to first class if seats were available for $30-$50. American did buy Reno Air and stopped non-stop flights. That was part of the deal I didn't understand. If the routes weren't in direct competiton with theirs, why buy the company, or stop flying the routes? Why make someone connect through DFW instead of using what must have been a successful usage of commuter jets from smaller market airports?

Yep, used to take RenoAir from Seattle for cheap, then American bought em out and then stopped the Seattle to Reno route, made zero sense.
