Golden Nugget - Carson Street Cafe closed

I heard on the news last night that they've scheduled a re-inspection for this morning and hope to reopen later today. It wasn't just the roaches -- they found spoiled food sitting around. I wonder if anyone was fired for this.

I also wonder if they paid for the lunches their employees had to buy elsewhere since the employee dining room was closed.

The employees were sent to Du Pars where I am sure they will feel right at home. LOL

Du Pars Restaurant & Bakery, Golden Gate, 1 Fremont St., received 25 demerits Nov. 30.
Violations included roaches observed throughout facility.GRADE: C

I doubt anyone sensible thinks the inspectors deserve blame for the Golden Nugget's failure to maintain a clean facility, let alone a "BAD WRAP" lol.

Lousy socialist restaurant inspectors, destroying our freedom to eat in a filthy restaurant!

I'm in the Rush tower as I write this. I was given a ten dollar food voucher as part of my room package. Hmmmm....I don't think I'll be using it.

Offer void if sandwich crawls off the table.

CHILCOOT---I worked with inspectors quite a bit duing my years. They did in fact had some real horror stories in their travels. Not saying they are getting a bad rap but some are a little more detailed than others. The thing that customers needs to be aware that is showing clean (surface) is only skin deep in some cases. The bad warp lays within the Golden nugget and the person incharge of sanitation. They need to take the correct action and fire their sorry ass. It just seemed funny that all of a sudden they some better establishments are have big problems. The list that we had to really go by had a lot of small infractions to very serious ones and that was where the concerns are. Some demits can be corrected within a matter of minutes example spolied food throw it out DONE----Chicken stored in wrong place MOVE IT but insects are a whole new story and need different measures to be taken. After enough demits and lack of corrective measures not taken the person should be out the door no excuses.

Maybe they should change the name of the restaurant to the Crispy Critter Cafe.
