Goodbye Imperial Palace

Maybe they could put a D in front of the IP, or freely after it.

So is the plan to take the IP down and build a new casino, or just change the letters to spell something different ?

Rick

From the current posted picture I guess you could call it the "I Gone Palace"

From the original letters.
Malaria Lice.

I'll miss the way it used to be. In 1985 they had the best cocktail waitress uniforms in Vegas.

Well, we sure agree there. If you were a boob man, they had some of the best looking cocktail waitresses in LV.

Since it's located across the street from Caesars... they could rename it the Palace Annex
The IP has now become the Quad.

If you're looking for a Las Vegas resort with a prime location and very affordable prices, there are two words to keep at the top of your mind: The Quad. Formerly the Imperial Palace, The Quad Resort & Casino is undergoing exterior and interior renovations to modernize property.

Renovation of The Quad will expand the casino floor, retail and dining areas. It will also remodel the porte cochere, front desk, bell desk and lobby. The final change will transform the exterior of the resort with a more modern look.

The resorts main entrance will be moved from the Las Vegas Strip to the north side of the building with access via Koval Road or the Harrah's tunnel off Las Vegas Boulevard. A pedestrian walkway will connect the Quad with the adjacent Harrah's Carnaval Court through The Linq, Caesars' $550 million retail, dining and entertainment district slated for opening in late 2013.

Phases of The Quad's renovations will be complete in fall of 2012 and spring of 2013. The final exterior work will be finished in late 2013.

notice none of that mentions any changes to the rooms? I think I will have to pass
Anyone know the new name?

I remember a long time ago When I was about 18 I was on the Strip for New Years (before the day of the barricades and 1 million cops). These 2 guys were fighting in the little alley between IP and Harrahs. One of the guys pulled out a gun and started shooting at the other guy as he ran away down the alley. The crowd scattered and ducked for cover.

Crazy times!
