DAY THREE

DonDiego is pleased to report that he awoke this morning shortly after 6:00am EDT, as is his custom.

The Sun did rise shortly thereafter, visible through a mild fog and thin higher clouds. All in all a pleasant October morning.

Sometime between these two events DonDiego observed that his toilet continues to function admirably; should it fail poor old DonDiego will likely have to become a Democrat.
And with flu season coming up, the CDC will be largely unable to track or react to any deadly strains. And a bunch of kids are still being shutdowned out of cancer trials. All because Boehner won't allow an up or down vote in the House.

Have a great day, DonDiego!

DonDiego thanks forkushV for his well wishes.

At the urging of teechur DonDiego received his influenza shot yesterday at a local pharmacy, . . . the cost is covered by his health insurance. DonDiego suspects teechur would urge everyone, including forkushV, to get a flu shot.

Regarding the "bunch of kids, . . . still being shutdowned out of cancer trials", the Republicans in the House have attempted to pass a specific funding bill for the National Institute of Health.

How's that working, one might ask:
"[Senator Reid, D-NV], asked about a bill to fund the National Institutes of Health, including clinical trials for kids with cancer, Reid responded, 'Why would we want to do that?' "

Ref: The Atlantic Wire
[n.b. Dondiego has provided a link to the article which defends Senator Reid so as not to be accused of cherry-picking a source. Nonetheless, that is how Senator Reid responded; DonDiego supposes Senator Reid has prioritized maintaining his political-tactics against Republicans over helping kids with cancer.]

Why, indeed?

Well as long as DonDiego is fine, what's the problem?

Keep on having a great day, DonDiego!

One can only guess...although its not hard to find any one of a number of rational reasons to reject Republicans from the corner Ted Cruz has backed them into...

- Maybe he thinks infants in need of baby formula are as big a priority as people in need of a flu shot.
- Maybe he doesn't think its intelligent to address a manufactured crisis on a day to day basis depedning on which victims make the biggest news headlines.
- Maybe he thinks its unwise to set a precedent for allowing a minority use the people and services of US Federal government as leverage to circumvent the normal democratic process
- Or Maybe he can read a poll which shows the public is overwhelmingly against negotiating any partisan policy issues in the context of a government shutdown
- Or maybe the electrictiy worked in Harry Reids office this morning. Thats all that matters, right?

I hope you are proud of your former president #43.....Dick Cheney.
How many thousands of US soldiers dead because of his lies ?
How many tens of thousands of US soldiers maimed for life because of his lies ?

Give Boehner some credit. We've been waiting over three years for his Congress to address the unemployment problem. ANd today they did. They added 800K more people to it.

forkushV had expressed concerns at least twice within this thread about kids being denied admittance to the National Institute of Health for cancer treatment.

In response to forkushV's heartfelt concern, DonDiego reported that the Republicans in the House of Representatives are trying to fund the NIH as soon as can be. The Democrats oppose this funding.

That pjstroh can make up a list of possible reasons why Harry Reid rejected the idea of funding the NIH, does not change the fact that Senator Reid opposes such funding.

DonDiego is saddened by pjstroh's apparent alliance with Senator Reid in opposition to funding the NIH.

"It's for the children."

Awww dont be sad, Don Diego. Your electricity came on today.

As for my dispositon toward the shutdown? I dont play favorites with the victims based upon which ones cause the most poitical embarrassment for the people holding them hostage. It doesn't sadden me that Don Diego does. My electircity came on today too.

So does this mean that pjstroh wants the NIH funded ASAP or not?
