Government Incompetence

The really good thing about this is the government shutdown and Republicans are getting all the blame for this. My Facebook was blowing up last with local folks complaining mom's couldn't their child support, food stamps and unemployment benefits were also unavailable and every person that was ranting about it was blaming the Republicans and their government shutdown. Sweet!

Umm, . . . and what well-known entity hired Xerox ?

Hint: The EBT System is a function of the United States Government.

Wouldn't a competent Government administrator at least notify citizens dependent on it for food, that the system was going to go offline ? Why little children pr'bly went to bed hungry. How heartless can pjstroh be?

Oooh.. I see. Xerox works for the Federal GOvernment so the government is to blame for Xerox's mistake. But wait the government works for the people...like Don Diego. So the government mistake is really Don Diego's fault.. Don Diego's incompetence is really getting out of hand.

Ooooo, and whats this delightful little treasure?
"How heartless can pjstroh be"
That sounds an awful lot like Don Diego is telling another poster what he thinks. Should I go cut-n-paste any of Don Diego's 100 lectures of feigned outrage regarding this behavior whenever he perceives someone uses it against him? Nah. I think we all know how that game ends.

But there is a great bright side in this little episode. The country got a really nice look at what life is like under the Ryan Budget.

Funny how DonDiego never complains about high salaries or benefits at government contractor Xerox. Or for that matter, at Booze Allen Hamilton, which relies totally on government contracts, and gave a six figure income to high school graduate Edward Snowden.

I guess as soon as the contractors get it, it all turns into The Free Market.

DonDiego was just asking a question, . . . as indicated by the question mark [?] at the end of the sentence.

Is it not heartless to place citizens, . . . and others, . . . in a position of dependence on the Federal Government for their food, . . . and then deny them the nourishment which they have been promised? And send their children to bed without their Twinkies and potato chips?
Would it not be better for all if citizens earned food for themselves and their families?

For the record DonDiego opposes egregiously high salaries dispensed to Government contractors.

Maybe for a start when the Government contracts for a construction project they could negotiate lower wages instead of specifying the the Contractor pay prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area.

Why doesn't the Government even try to negotiate better contract terms?

DonDiego would prefer a much smaller Government altogether. He would prefer that the entire food stamp program were non-existent, . . . thereby obviating the need for Xerox to operate the EBT credit card system. When it comes to ever-growing Government expenditures DonDiego is resigned that he is less and less likely to experience his preferences.

Partly because YOU voted for Republicans who gave no-bid contracts to Halliburton, and who passed a law prohibiting Medicare from negotiating prescription drug prices.

This has been another episode of simple answers to silly questions.

DD's question presumes I am, in fact, heartless. His punctuation mark relates to the degree of heartlessness I possess. I'm sure Don Diego understands this as he is the self-proclaimed board master of all things grammatical.

But have no worries. After spending 10 minutes crying my eyes out I have made a full recovery from my panic attack spawned by someone on this board pretending to understand what I think. Its not easy...but I think I'm ready to move on now. Can I just get hug from someone? Its been a tough day.

But forkushV didn't even address DonDiego's "silly question".

Why doesn't the Government even try to negotiate better contract terms?

So forkushV opposes no-bid contracts to Halliburton. DonDiego prefers competition.
And negotiated prices on prescription drugs. DonDiego embraces competition.
But does forkushV also oppose the legal stipulation that on construction contracts the Contractor must pay the prevailing wage, . . . or would he like the Government to negotiate a better deal, . . . for the taxpayer, . . . and the taxpayers' children. DonDiego loves competition.
