It's not a matter of preference, it's a matter of respect.

I live in a mixed neighborhood in the suburbs. I like it here. I prefer it to living either in the city or a more rural area. Yes, it's culture. It's not race. I'd much rather be with people that have the same goals in life as I do regardless of their skin color or religion than with white people that are assholes.

Nope, it is - without a doubt - about race. KayPea was defending the following gem from treegirl: "Perhaps a country like ours with so many different races, etc was not such a great idea. The ones who made it better are the white ppl."

Are you cool with that too, snidely? Oh, and when you resort to swearing and name calling here on the boards, it's usually not a good sign. You're better than that - sometimes.

I don't recall much swearing or name calling that I've done on here. And you're right, it's not a good sign.

A lot people say that since the USA was founded by white Christians that the white Christian way of life is somehow preferable or is our way of life. When things happen to dispel that, these same people cry about an anti-Christian agenda when what is happening is a race and religion neutral agenda. Many people fear that white Christians will not the be the majority demographic in the USA in the future and imply that is bad.

You and I are free to think what we want about TreeGirl's gem. I don't feel a need to play forum police and point out potentially prejudiced or racist statements or ask for additional explanations about them.

I do not hate black ppl. I do hate grudges held for 100's of years.

Why do people play a game at all if they are relying on a stranger to make specific moves? Look for an empty table and move on when someone arrives or don't play at all. Hating, being frustrated by, or resenting another person making personal choices on how to gamble their own money is silly.

I also why wonder why people get so angry when they see others playing video poker machines with bad odds. Scan your own lane and stop worrying about others. The casinos already know that a ton of players don't understand or don't care about the odds. You can not change the gambling world by advising people of what odds to play.

Life is short... Have fun in Vegas.

My "gem"? But you are not pointing anything out.

Ok. Give me a list of all of the ppl of color who took this country from the natives and started building this country. They were white. You and everyone else is reading between the lines I wrote.
But that's ok. It seems to make all of you macho men feel so much better about yourselves.
I prefer to not be subjected to things like nasty rap music in public places.

I just hate it when some people try to change a thread about hatred into racism.
Actually, I was defending the statement "Imagine a person actually liking their own race above others". But race is too big for me to imagine as the race of white people is comprised of many different cultures, several of which I'm ignorant of the details, and others of which I do not like many of the details that I do know. I can imagine liking my own culture above others. It's the one I grew up with. It's the one I know the best and I'm most comfortable with.

As far as the other statement, it is true that the discovery, settlement, and formation of the government of this country was largely by the race of white people. It is also true that we have a lot of racial conflict in this country. We are also quick to jump on someone like a school of piranha if they say something the least bit politically incorrect.

+1

Thank you for being honest.
If anyone would look at my post, I said "made" not "make.
White ppl made it better, not make it.
Huge difference.
