How do you deal with posters (here) that annoy you?

Actually, that's a little strange.

+1 for Number51.

I read things wrong at times. Like earlier when RM brought up the LP thread.
Then I re-read it and apologized.
Perhaps 51's original post was read wrong by RM.

I kinda remember the post about Lou. My memory (maybe a bit shaky) is that 51 made a derogatory remark about Lou leaving the team he was managing mid season. At the time Lou left the team, I was not aware of the reason and I assumed 51 was also not aware the reason, either. RM was aware of the reason and took umbrage. Then it turned into the typical bickering.

Sound like that is what happened. Miscommunication is most likely the cause.
What do y'all think about the way Dusty Baker manages his pitching staff?

I think you mean he overuses them and they burn their arms out. I wonder how former pitchers like Nolan Ryan and Sandy Koufax feel about today's players? In their day, there was only a four man rotation, whereas now there is always a five man rotation. Managers used to let their pitchers pitch whole games, where they now pull them after a certain pitch count. Today's managers have also shut down a pitcher for a season even though they are in a pennant chase.

There are many more pitchers who pitch in the high 90's with some of them getting over 100. I believe Nolan Ryan was the first pitcher to be clocked over 100mph.

This thread sucks.

What does everyone think about Pete Rose and his habit of gambling on baseball while managing the Reds?

As long as he never bet against his team, I have no problem with it. He played the game the right way and he should be the arbiter of any "unwritten rules" debates.
DonDiego has no problem with it either. It does seem appropriate that any man with the nickname "Charlie Hustle" and the statistics he put up should be in the Hall of Fame.

But that he is not in the hall of fame has nothing to do with "unwritten rules".

"Major League Baseball, Rule 21 Misconduct
Section(d) BETTING ON BALL GAMES.
Any player, umpire, or club official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has no duty to perform shall be declared ineligible for one year.
Any player, umpire, or club or league official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform shall be declared permanently ineligible."

The investigation of Mr. Rose's gambling concluded when he agreed to accepted a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball Commissioner Bart Giamatti. Mr. Rose was declared permanently ineligible.
The Baseball Hall of Fame and Major League Baseball are two separate organizations. But the Hall of Fame rules state that no one on the MLB ineligible list can be inducted into the Hall.
