A man in Escondido, Ca. wound up stealing money from the Girl Scouts "cookie jar" that they had collected from selling cookies. One of the mothers chased after him to no avail. They were selling the cookies outside an Albertson's supermarket. Although the thief got away, shoppers who heard about the theft, pitched in and made good for the losses. It really takes someone low down to steal from the Girl Scouts!!!

The Girl Scouts staged the thievery to get additional donations. Great move as they've now collected $10 per box of cookies sold instead of $5!

Smartest business move ever!

Girl Scout sets up her cookie stand outside the Green Cross medical marijuana dispensary in San Francisco, Calif. Patients bought out her supply in 45 minutes, requiring the girl to seek out a larger cookie supply.

I think the Girl Scouts are doing just fine and wouldn’t have missed the stolen money. I’m sure the thief will get what’s coming to him. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

On the evening of 22 February the Girl Scouts were selling cookies, as is their wont, . . . and also taking donations to send cookies to soldiers overseas.
The thief stole from the Girl Scouts and deployed military simultaneously.

For the record DonDiego was in Appalachia on February 22nd.

Just common sense; no thug would run from Girl Scouts.

In spite of his ever-accelerating decrepitude poor old DonDiego hadn't thought jillyf's comment was intended for DonDiego. Nonetheless, DonDiego thanks jillyf for the clarification.

It is one of DonDiego's habits to account for his whereabouts in many instances of criminal activity reported on the LVA Boards, . . . just in case there is any ill-founded suspicion among the readership.

Girl Scouts governing board will put a stop to this practice. Last week I was accosted by some guys selling girl scout cookies outside a liquor store.
