How often do you leave Las Vegas a winner?

Let's define winning as positive cash flow after all casino visits during your trip. Count casino drink tips as gambling loses, but do not include any other expenses as gambling loses (i.e. meals, hotel, shows.....).

I only play blackjack, and I'm guessing that I leave Vegas a winner about 20% of the time. I surely hope that I can win when I head to Vegas August 28.
20% sounds about right, since that means I leave with less money 80% of the time. Nothing to brag about, for sure. The big thing is...how much less? Don't wanna go there....clean slate every time, right? LOL.

I've come home with more money than I went out with the last 2 times. I was in a pretty bad cold spell before then.

I attribute some of the recent success to luck (obviously) but also to the fact that I play better games. 80% of my bankroll goes to craps and VP now. 20% goes to slots. Used to be about a 50/50 split.
I've gone to Las Vegas two to three times a year for the last 10 years and have left a winner maybe twice. However, the food, entertainment, and overall experience is always priceless.

It seem to go in waves. Had a winning year several years ago, including paying taxes on net winnings. Then roller coaster. The last two trips had nothing going. Playing a lot of video poker, I didn't hit kickers until the last day of trip and that was downtown. A turnaround trip a month ago also couldn't get anything going, had no confidence. Then I had to remind myself that I hit a Royal on both of my previous short trips -- one in January and one in March -- so it's important to keep the big picture in mind. When you're hot it seems like everything you touches turns to gold. When you're ice cold, the $$$ evaporates in a blink.
I almost always win. That's because I take advantage of every Match Play and Free Play and do very little gambling outside of that...except for my traditional Last Stand at a Craps Table.
It is hard for a couple to come home a winner, as one person loses and the other wins, but we never lose that much.

But we have a great time!
20% sound about right. Back when all I played was $2.00 BJ I felt I always left a winner because I usually drank enough to make up for the BJ losses.

Of course all of that is ancient history and now if I come home with half of my bankroll I feel pretty good about it.

I will say I find it a whole lot easier to leave a winner in my local casino because even if I get up $300.00 it easy to get up and go home. In LV I would just keep on playing. I mean after flying from Florida what are going to do quit and fly home because you are up a couple of hundreds....of course not.
we had a very good run at VP our last trip. Well, my wife had a very good run. I didn't do anything to help but didn't lose much. We are low budget players and don't really keep track of winners or losing trips. What we do now is put $20 in the VP machine and cash out if we get over $50. Then we put in another $20. Our "system" has been working pretty well for us.
Ditto Titontow and Snidely.

Our little group, we set a 1-2 hour BY THE CLOCK limit in each casino, and I often come out ahead. It is the overnights where I lose all sense of time and momey.

I've also learned to hit the cash out button and tuck those tickets away, NO putting them back in a machine. I might put another 20 or hundy in to satisfy my delusion that it will hit again, but at least I don't sit there and pound away previous winnings, which is too easy to do. Love to cash those tickets in when leaving, seeing what I saved for myself.
