How often do you leave Las Vegas a winner?

Have not been to Vegas since 2009-2010. My primary activity was "whoring", and abusing coupons, often for 6-8 hours per day, than playing live poker, I left Vegas with an overall profit EVERY trip after ALL expenses. (6-7 times 2009-2010, 55 + nights. And I paid for most hotel rooms.)

Since 2010, Vegas is too expensive to visit. It is, IMHO, no longer possible to pay for the trip expense (airfare & hotel) by coupon whoring. The cost of a visit has more than doubled, so I have not returned. There is just not enough +EV to "earn" the $100+ per day a visit would now cost for 7 nights. Even staying downtown. I could probably get a couple nights comped, but still not worth it. NOT when I can stay local and "guarantee" myself a win.

I've been going "local" several times per week, sometimes 4-6 visits. Again, my visits are usually timed to promotions, whether casino or poker. I note my results for every visit in my daily journal, even trips where I do not give any action, and there are many of those. My time is split between looking for abandoned multipliers, checking jackpots for those "mini-maxi must hit jackpots" (and other potential advantage play machines when certain conditions exist), and live poker.

July I went 14 times, June, 18 visits. Of those 32 visits, 2 were visits without any casino play. Of the remaining 30 visits, 2 resulted in a net loss for my casino action.

One loss was $200.00, when I found abandoned multipliers on a UX $2 denomination VP 10 play on two different games. I blanked completely on both plays for $100 each. Spent another hour or two and "found" nothing else, got bored, so went home. The other loss was insignificant.

I also won more than $1,000 per visit 3 times during the same period for my casino action.

So my "casino visits" winning percentage is probably high 90%. However, they are lucky to get $300 coin in from me on any visit.

IF I include my live poker game results, my winning trip percentages would drop to somewhere in the high 50's or 60's.

So far this year, my casino advantage play & promotion net win results are more than 8x my poker win.

Never. Ever. Not even once.

We usually visit two-three times per year. I have had winning days, but never a winning trip.

Why continue to go? We get free rooms and are eating from comp dollars. After airfare, our only exepenses are tips and gambling.

This year 3 for 4.
Usually 1 for 4.
Trying again in a couple weeks.
Hmm, I've got to say I've been pretty lucky(knock on wood) with this past trip being the best when I won that 1700 on that new game flush high or whatever it was called. I never cashed the chips til the day we left at which point I think I was even or close to it. Speaking of breaking even, I always count coming home even or close to it a win. Out of 6 trips to Vegas I think I've only lost enough to count once all others have been break evenish or slight win.

I don't bet enough to win much. A few times I've won $1500, but far far more often I've lost $1000. The way I look at it however, is that gambling is my entertainment. Plus I'm with my buddies.
It ain't about the profit/loss,it's all about the FUN,anyway.
Getting comps are great-get as much as you can B-4 you get outta town.
Gambling is a LOT of fun for me and I can "rent" a LOT of comp drinks, too.
I love the craps table and I still have fun,but it's more fun to win those round things!

Come out ahead? 1 out of 10 times,I guess.
Has a lot to do with luck and not so much skill.

I'm a savvy gamer and do OK and it ain't about the money, anyway.

The more play I do,the better the comps are.
50 to 60%. The funny thing is that I make tenfold of what I did 25 years ago but I don't have the balls to bet today what I bet back then.
Just over 10 years ago my wife and I stopped visiting Atlantic City where we were consistently losing money playing 9/6 JOB at Borgata. We now limit our gambling activity to 2-3 trips per year to Las Vegas. Unless we have slot play coupons, I exclusively play FPDW while my wife plays either full pay or NSUD depending on what is available where we are staying. Our record of wins and losses stands at 17 winning trips out of a total 26. On a calendar year basis, we experienced our first loss in 2013 after losing on 2 of the 3 trips we took. 2014 started off better with both of us enjoying a small win on single trip.
Looking at the last 5 years, 28 trips, I was a winner 71% of the time. Now my wife on her penny machines, managed 3 wins.

+1

We only go once a year, anywhere between 9-11 days each time. Have only paid for a room maybe two nights since our first trip, and make full use of comp points and coupons so rarely pay full price for a meal. I figure we work plenty hard the other 355 days of the year - we deserve this once-a-year splurge.
