HUGE Cheating Scandal In Nascar. TRUEX JR OUT !!

And so now, on Friday the 13th, NASCAR just went and added Jeff Gordon as the 13th driver in the 12-driver Chase field.

NASCAR isn't an actual sport with rules or anything. They just make it up as they drive in circles for hours on end.
Yep. Gordon added as the 13th Chase driver in the 12 driver Chase field !

I know, I know....how can you have 13 drivers in a 12 driver field ?

On the flip side of the coin, Roger Penske ( who can afford it) will be penalized a hefty sum.

Front Row Motorsports (who can't afford it) will be penalized a hefty sum.

And many spotters and crew chiefs will be on probation till 12/31.....to add to the many crew chiefs that are currently on probation.....till 12/31.

Stay tuned for more drama.......As The Nascar World Turns (mostly left)
We have Nascar rules and then we have the Jeff Gordon/Jimmy Johnson rules. I am pretty much done with Nascar at this point.
Crap like this is why I don't like The Chase in Sprint Cup racing or The Countdown in NHRA drag racing. I see it as contrived drama where none is needed. I've seen many sports writers try to compare these formats to playoffs in other sports. They ignore the fact that playoff teams in other sports can't be beaten by non-playoff teams after the playoffs begin.

Most of the top racers are part of multi-car teams. That can only result in actions taken by some team members to the benefit of other team members who are in a better position to make "the playoffs". There's just too much money involved to not try to help the team put the driver closest to the bump spot into the field.

Both forms of racing have rules against team play. In NASCAR racing, breaking those rules can often be easier to detect because it will often involve an intentional crash. In NHRA racing, it will usually involve taking a dive and losing a round on purpose. The latter is harder to prove, but it has happened. Neither sport should have a playoff system. Race the entire season to determine the winners.

Fixed

It ain't ever going to happen, but if the teams were gone and it went back to single teams racing would improve immensely.
Things like this have ramped up since the advent of teams and MWR should be banned from The Chase on stupidity alone.
Must be they didn't know the cars have on-board cameras and their radios broadcast "over the air"?

NASCAR's quest to draw in more fans has only alienated their original base of fans which includes me. Once was great and now not so.
Digger, boogity boogity boogity, green/white checkers, invisible debris cautions, lucky dog, etc., etc.,...have plasticized the sport.

Oh, and Go Matt Kenseth!!!!!!
I wonder if any sportsbooks took bets on this? Bet whether, say Newman or Gordon or Truex made the Chase, or whether Newman or Gordon won the Championship? On Monday morning, Truex bettors got paid, while Newman and Gordon bettors tore up all their slips.
David Ragan who drives the #34 is 25th in points had the best Tweet yesterday

I am thinking by Dover or Kansas the #34 may get in the chase after all.
