I just don't see this fast food worker being worth $15/hr(non-Vegas)

I complain about the poverty which people have put themselves into and the Liberals policies which encourage such apathy by American workers. Giving free stuff to able bodied Americans encourages and develops an underclass which is certain to become underachievers and certain to rely on handouts for ever.

Exhibit A: The American Indian after 150 years of giveaways.

Who is talking about people who don't work? I'm talking about people who do. Food is not a discretionary item any more than air is.

People like Boilerman support poverty wages for full time jobs....only to complain about the resulting poverty those workers live in.

"Do tell. How does raising someone's income make them more dependent on the government? I would think it does the opposite."

The govt decrees a 40+% wage increase on a specific class of people & who do you think the people who received that increase vote for? In addition, the poeple that lost their jobs due to the wage increase will become more dependent on the govt.

Democrats win both ways & the country sinks further

I see! We just have a different definition of the phrase "dependent on government".

I define it as people living off government benefits.

You define it as people voting for policies in their best interest.

You have no clue and continue to show it. You are too economically inexperienced and too much of a brainwashed liberal to make any meaningful contributions or have any truthful insight to the discussion.

Minimum wage employees are low lifes and will always be low lifes. Raising their wages will only lower their numbers, and the resulting unemployed will only collect Obama handouts, costing us normal folk and creating even more low lifes. It's obvious Mr. O wants as many low lifes in this country as possible, and yes, for voting purposes. Dems will continue to bus these losers to the polls in every presidential election, as they did each time the big O. ran. They know normal people would never vote for such an abomination, but every single one of these slugs would, just to continue getting their free handouts.

No fast food worked likes their job. Who would, Smelly, smokey, greasy environments with a collection of minority workers only a socialist could love. I say pay them less. It won't make any difference. No one would run to work in such a dumpy place at $4 or $15/hr. What a joke.

A giveaway is a giveaway, and those who receive them react as expected. Most become lazy and dependent. The biggest single problem with our country is that now most folks pay no federal income taxes, and they are such a huge voting block. They continue to vote for more giveaways and they become less self sufficient and certainly less production.

It's unsustainable. Most of all, the folks you wish to help most are being hurt most. Exhibit A: The American Indian.

PJ must have made a mistake when he copies my post. Here is the rest of the post

"In addition, the poeple that lost their jobs due to the wage increase will become more dependent on the govt."

What you have is a class of people who rather than trying to better themselves are dependent on the govt for the wage increases. In addition more people are put out of work and are dependent on the govt to live.

It used to be ignorant people like Albeadle only called unemployed people "low lifes". Now that group apparently includes people who work full time too. How cute. And then he complains those low lifes get to vote! Even cuter.

People like Albeadle make me very proud to be a liberal.

(BTW- Chilcoot just posted the most recent statistics of states that raised wages for the low lifes...and the data backs up "clueless" pjstroh's position. It does not make a strong case for "high-life" Albeadle's)

And again you keep pointing to people on welfare. I'm talking about people who work. Let me give you an example: the drive through attendant at McDonalds.

Boilerman is right....she probably does not pay taxes. And she probably gets government healthcare assistance and food stamps. If she made more money she would be less likely to qualify for government care...and more likely to pay taxes. But Boilerman does not support her making more money...he just wants to be pissed off at her for not making more money.

In all likelihood the person working the McDonald's counter is a hs/college student living with their family.

Hoops I agree with this statement to a point. In the past, or should I say in my prime it was all young HS or college people working fast food. What I have noticed during the last recession is more and more middle aged or older folks working at these entry level jobs.

I don't want to sound elitist but I actually feel bad for some of these people especially when I talk to some of them and they are 40 or 50 years old with a good education but they took a job at Mickey D's until something better comes along.
