I posted this on the other side, not vegas...

I am inclined to agree with you. However, as to why this is such an issue it is because they do have a missile capable of hitting Israel. Israel has very powerful lobbying groups here in the U.S. If Iran were to develop a functional nuclear weapon Israel would likely launch a preemptive war that would drag us and the entire middle east into it. Nevertheless, the view that we can somehow keep the technology genie from coming out of the bottle is antiquated, and a new strategy needs to be developed to deal with the technological realities of 2012.

Besides, having nuclear weapons is one thing, being able to "deliver" them is something else. I'm sure they don't have the rocket power to get those suckers out of their own backyard.

Golly ge willikers there. That's part of what the UN was supposed to do, stop nations from developing the atom bomb. Looks like they did a really great job.

Technology has changed a lot since 1945.

Not too much, as the basic designs for both a fission bomb and a fusion bomb are both more than 60 years old. The 2 fission bomb designs are the originals that were invented in 1944/45 and the hydrogen design developed in 1951. The amount of fissionable material HAS changed due to advances in the enrichment process. However, that's about it.

Here is the opps..

At 20% enrichment, they now have the capacity to do a Dirty Bomb, and that is me, in the hospitals are dreading...

Worse, since I am in the Nuclear Medicine Dept, the Hospital is going to look at me for answers....

When my Geiger Counter registers more than 2mr/Hr, more like 100mr/hr to people exposed, I have only one options left....

DO NOT LET THEM INTO THE HOSPITAL... And then I am going to be pressured to let them in.....

I am totally dreading this day.......

For IRAN loves us, right?

I am not sure who posted this, but it so much further than any word he/she posted as follows:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Your fear is misplaced, nukes are quick and painless. Remember, just like the Guillotine it was for the elite and royalty.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nuke are not painless, they are the most evil of weapons, and everything should be done to prevent a single Human Being being destroyed by one..

I post this before, and it is totally uguly, but to review how this kills....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) First is the Gamma Ray Burst.... It reaches out beyond the death blast zone.
From many miles away, you are dead, but it will take your body 2-3 days to realize it is dead. This is not the Fall-Out exposure.... This happens later if you survive what I call A-B-C-D knock out... sad...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A) Gamma Ray Burst, most live past this, but are the walking dead for the next 2-3 days later.

B) The Lucky ones within the firball, dead right then, right now.

C) Where most people die (85%) during the initial blast.... The shock wave.... that slams you up to the nearest hard object to kill you, before the structure goes..

D) The last to die from fallout, about 2-3 weeks.... all the while being sick, and fading adway...... in sickness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So unless you are in category "B", do not let the following quote ever sway you from why this weapon needs to be stopped in countries that have no means to control its spread..

Here is the quote that is dangerious thinking.....

This is true....

But I feel worse each year from the last.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For I know more...

And I gave you..

OK, I finally found this quote buried above..

So false.....

Quick and Painless..... only for the first 20% killed.......

This is why this weapon needs to never spread any further... PERIOD!
