They DO NOT have to play the Super Bowl on February 2 if the weather conditions are extremely unfavorable.

I believe that there are alternates dates set up by the NFL (if required).

Yes, Rick I am aware of that...it's already been discussed that the date of the superbowl may be changed. Either way, I'm hoping for snow.

Minus 17 right now with wind chill of minus 42. Supposed to get all the way up to minus 7 today. More snow predicted for tomorrow. Snow plow came by this morning and buried my sidewalk again. 44 more days til Vegas

Can you imagine the chaos, especially in Vegas, if they changed the date of the Super Bowl? 37 degrees & a little snow wouldn't be a disaster. I was at the Green Bay/SF game a couple of weeks ago. Now THAT was cold

So, it's 5 degrees at noon today -- and I had 18" of snow to move around yesterday. (I was in the so-called "Jackpot" area for this latest storm - just north of Cape Cod, MA). Driving is still a nightmare. And, since the Pats blew their chances for the Big Game, I could care less if it snows a blizzard in NJ -- We are pretty hardy stock around these parts, but seriously.... enough with the cold and ice already.

The NFL will only change the day of the game if NJ decides it's a public safety issue. Unless there is a blizzard like last year, the game I'm sure will be played in all it's glory...and hopefully, snow!
