IF and I mean IF you were staying downtown

Have not been to Vegas since the super bowl 2 years ago. Thinking of going again for the super bowl in Feb.
Some places downtown have remodeled and upgraded rooms pretty well. If you were to choose one which one would it be for a 2 night stay?

Going for 4 days but have rooms on the strip for 2 nights at Bellagio.

thanks in advance
I haven't stayed anywhere downtown yet thats nicer than the Rush Tower at Golden Nugget. Staying there again in December. Haven't tried the new Golden Gate suites.
Golden Nugget
The Rush Tower at the GN is very nice, whole tower is Non smoking, newer moderen furnishings. Ask to be aware from the FSE on a upper floor, we were on 16th and could look at the Plaza it was not bad.

We stayed at a deluxe suite at the Plaza, very nice, would stay there again. Quiet and clean. had free kerg coffee in room, free water, ice box and wet bar. Modern with old theme decor, downside ity bity bathroom with nice modern sink.... Safe in room also.

I agree with the Golden Nugget. They have some nice suites for cheap.
Obviously the Nugget is the best place downtown-it also has the worst prices downtown. By far.
I stay next door at the 4 Queens. It is maybe 20 foot walk to the Nugget. Great place to play (MUCH better slots, BJ and VP than Nugget) and stay-the elevators open directly in the casino.

"The El Cortez Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas Like It Used To Be".

Jackie Gaughn always gives the customer the best value for his dollar, whether in the room or at the tables and machines.
DonDiego recommends the Cabana Suites.
Don Diego - that picture of the cat and rat together is hilarious!

I would choose the Nugget as the nicest hotel, but I get free rooms, free dining at the Golden Gate every month for very little play, so I stay there. And their little suites are very comfortable.
Tony suspects that Don Diego filmed that at the Oasis.
i'll try again. fingers lost my message in space.

i am at el cortez 12-8-12 because i want to stay there. i have an old room above the casino(by my choice). rodeo's downtown this weekend. i may have to drink that night to sleep.

will eat at the steak house. will play craps. will go to fremont and see the sights. maybe a deep fried
something or other at mermaids.
