If we had a LEADER

obama would tell the leaders of Congress to pack a bag, meet at the White House & tell them they are not leaving until they have a deal.

Sadly we don't have a leader, but someone who prefers to make speeches
This thread is going to go well.
The office pool is now open to see if Forkie or Chili will be the first to respond.
Maybe Hollywood will hear your plea and make "Dave, Pt .2"?

We would need more than a "leader"...we would need some sort of constituional authority awarded to the president to make the fictional power Hoops talks about possible.

But this is probably as close as we will ever get to Hoops being critical of his party leadership. ....Its the Obama's fault Ted Cruz and Cry-guy aren't behaving properly.

I tend to hold grown adults accoutnable for their own actions.

Obviously the predsident can't lock up the congressional leaders, but he should be directly involved
(as other presidents have in the past) in the negotiations.

Waiting for Jatki and Drmilled on the far right and Chilcoot and Fork from the left to weigh in before I form an opinion.
Quote of the Decade: "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government cannot pay it's own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to balance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here." Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." -- Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006.
Getting in the IBTD before the rabbit.
Right now he is giving one of his press conference/lectures on the evil Republicans
