Irony

So you're saying that when you write "ignore" it really means "NOT ignore." I suppose when you write "laugh occasionally," it really means "cry constantly."

That would explain a lot.

So try this, get a friend ( you Do have a friend, don't you?) and have them read what I have said and then ask them to explain what I have said to you.
Pretty funny, because forkie claims the op wasn't ironic, it suddenli isn't. Sheesh!

That would explain a lot.--------------Eh...maybe because drmilled is actually Copying and Pasting your comments rather than quoting them. Like I just did. And I think it's damn ironic when you accuse him of writing "ignore" when he's really just copying your post. Damn Ironic. I think I may stop using the quote button and start copying and pasting too.

alan- the liberal wind bags just hate it when one copies and pastes their asinine comments. They love to hunt for any missed comma, or period when they dissect something one says.- then they go on their idiotic liberal rampage about your error and change the subject to mouth off about what someone else did. When you cut and paste their lunacy they normally just shut up and desist posting-for even they know they can't criticize their own comments
Ok. I get that....but the Quote button can be your friend too.
Choose your weapons wisely, for the liberals have no boundaries and will cheat and lie (ala Obama) to attain their asinine goals.

Sigh. No alanleroy, irony is not a simple contradiction, so please stop using big words you don't understand. Irony is when language or actions produce the opposite of their intended effect. So in motown's dim analogy comparing people with squirrels, this would be ironic:

A park ranger confiscated food from visitors who are trying to feed the animals, begins consuming that food himself, and then becomes dependent on it.

Get it? Finally?

Jeez Louise, the main point of this thread isn't to discuss the meaning of "irony". It's to discuss the inconstant application of logic.

Carry on.

You do realize that words have more than one dictionary definition, right?

3

a (1) : incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result (2) : an event or result marked by such incongruity

So maybe accusing some one of something and then finding out he merely copied you is in fact an example of Irony. Get it? I didn't think so.
