Per their website, the Motel 6 has modern rooms, so time travelers should look elsewhere. Fascinating!

There are also timeshares behind Harrah's that my brother has used. I saw them about 4 years ago and they were very small, but could sleep 4 with a pullout sofa bed. They were very clean. You can see the orange colored buildings that make up the complex from the monorail. I believe they may have been a hotel conversion.

You do get a full kitchen also. You might find a deal on the VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals by Owner) mentioned by Julie G above. Sometimes timeshare owners will rent the unit to you for the yearly maintenance fee they have to pay for a week.

There is also another timeshare across the street South of the South Point. I think they or the South Point may have a shuttle to the strip but I normally rent a car. Again, these sleep 4 with a pullout sofa bed. I stayed there about 4 years ago and found them very nice and larger than the timeshares behind Harrah's. It was my sister's timeshare booking, but there were two full one bedroom apartments when you entered the door from the hallway, with two separate doors. I don't know if my sister booked 2 timeshares, but if not, up to 8 people can stay for the cost of renting the timeshare.

Also if you submit to a timeshare presentation of about an hour long, you get some comps for the casinos on the strip. I think I got $200 of non-negotiable chips for the Luxor which I used playing craps.
