Joe The Plumber goes Union

Here's something Boilerman and jatki can get behind!

XENOPHOBIA : fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange

Don't see how wanting to prevent those from breaking the law is wrong. Don't agree with the just start shooting part , but I do get his point . Don't see how wanting a white Republican President is racist . Many black people wanted a Black President . Are they racist ? Bob

Yes. We should all want the best person for the job. The color of their skin should be meaningless.

That's real white of you. And I'm thinking it's the shooting thing matches the fear and hatred part of your definition.

People of all races exhibit racial prejudice, which is a pathetic human flaw. But much worse, it's despicable and un-American when people try to justify racial prejudice, codify it into law, or use it to gain power. Of course I'm referring to Joe The (fake) Plumber, Boilerman, jatki, and (probably) you.

Forkie, lie all you like. I would be perfectly happy with a bright, conservative, black President

Most black voters are far more concerned with President Obama's color than President Obama's performance. Being black trumps almost everything for these voters. I, on the other hand, don't give a hoot about a presidents color, as performance trumps all.

As I said, one must not be a licensed plumber to own a plumbing company. Read the law.

What's it like to spend one's life telling lies and half truths?

From the Ohio statutes:

"4740.01 Construction industry licensing board definitions.
As used in this chapter:

(A) "License" means a license the Ohio construction industry licensing board issues to an individual as a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning contractor, refrigeration contractor, electrical contractor, plumbing contractor, or hydronics contractor.

(B) "Contractor" means any individual or business entity that satisfies both of the following:

(1) Directs, supervises, or has responsibility for the means, method, and manner of construction, improvement, renovation, repair, or maintenance on a construction project with respect to one or more trades and who offers, identifies, advertises, or otherwise holds out or represents that the individual or business entity is permitted or qualified to perform, direct, supervise, or have responsibility for the means, method, and manner of construction, improvement, renovation, repair, or maintenance with respect to one or more trades on a construction project;

(2) Performs or otherwise supervises or directs tradespersons who perform construction, improvement, renovation, repair, or maintenance on a construction project with respect to the contractor's trades."

So, according to your theory, "Joe the Plumber" was going to buy a plumbing company that included master plumbers and journeyman plumbers who were capable of working on large projects, and then he was going to sit on his ass while they did all the work, because he wasn't allowed on the job sites, because he was unqualified. And he was going to make a decent living this way, except for all that interference by the evil empire.

Have you ever, once, heard of the word "shill?"

So, Jilly is telling us that Servpro, which employees licensed plumbers, could not go "public", and sell stock. In Jilly's opinion, all stock owners would first be required to produce a plumbers license.

I will state again, one needs not a license to own a plumbing company.

So Boilerman is telling us that "Joe the Plumber" is actually "Joe the Venture Capitalist," soon to be "Joe the Wall Street Investment Banker." I guess if we believe "Joe," we might as well believe Boilerman.
Here's is may quote and I stand by it's accuracy.
