Kids in Vegas

If Vegas only means gambling and drinking to you, by all means leave the kids at home. You are obviously making the best choice for everyone in your family. But if you can enjoy Vegas without jonesing for gambling and other such activities, Las Vegas is a fantastic town to bring kids. Room rates are relatively cheap, and there’s lots for kids to do.

We showed the town to a tween and two young teens and we all had a fantastic time. They went on the rides at the Stratosphere and on the NYNY roller coaster. We spent the day at Springs Preserve. We spent almost a whole day – at their insistence – at the Pinball Hall of Fame, where it is really, really hard to spend much money. They enjoyed unlimited desserts at a few buffets. We booked an inexpensive midweek room at the Golden Nugget for a day so they could slide through the shark tank. We spent a long time at the Bellagio, enjoying the fountains and the arboretum. We saw a couple magic shows, a concert, and Louie Anderson. And we even spent an evening enjoying summer concerts on Fremont Street, and amazingly, they didn’t turn into degenerates on the spot!

Obviously, there are irresponsible parents who bring their kids to Vegas, just as there are irresponsible parents who bring their kids to the library, the doctor’s office, and to the Olive Garden. But bringing kids to Vegas isn’t really the problem, is it?
What gets me with this and other evergreen hot buttons is how people who supposedly are on vacation get SO riled up when others choose not to vacation like them. If someone else's kid in Vegas disturbs your enjoyment of your cocktail or strip club or baccarat session, the problem ain't with the kid.

I've had far far more drunken-fool "adults" bounce off me in Vegas than strollers.

Now bad parenting can show up anywhere--a "responsible" parent dragging a screaming 4-y-o around kid-appropriate Disneyland for 14 hours, for instance--but that's not really what this is about.
I wonder if the original post was a complaint about kids in Vegas, looking for advice on whether or not to take the kids to Vegas, or wondering what there was for kids to do in Vegas.

But I am about to go start my own thread with a title and no post
