laughlin for a day

My hubby and I will be taking a day trip on a Sunday to Laughlin as we have never been. Any recommendations as to dining, sites, must see, things to do, things not to waste your time on? Thanks!
Plan to take a water taxi up and down the river, and then walk the river walk to all the casinos along the river. I really liked it there.
Make sure you go to the Aquarius, best casino in town. If the Regency is still there, go there for the Prime Rib. If not, go to the Riverside. for PR!
Thanks for the suggestions. Leaving Saturday from Indy for a week in Vegas. I am so ready for this vacation! Meeting up with friends on Tuesday. Since we are renting a car, thought the drive to Laughlin would be something different to see.

Lauglin is "low key" and you'll like it there. I agree, take the water taxi - leaves from the Riverside and goes up to Harrah's and back down. You can take the one way and walk the way back alongside the Colorado River. Very nice.

The best place to have lunch or dinner would be the buffet in Aquarius. They have just refurbished it and it is lovely - overlooks the river on the window side. The price of the buffet includes wine, beer, and margaritas - unlimited. The buffet is very good - not HUGE but the quality is very good.

The Aquarius is the best place to play video poker and then they have lots of the other "fun machines" to play.

Enjoy your trip!! The ride from LV to Laughlin is very nice too. You can stop in Searchlight (about half way ) and have a ten cent cup of coffee at the little casino there - quaint!!
The Riverwalk does not extend to Harrahs. So if you take the water taxi to Harrahs you will need to take the water taxi back at least part way.
There is a free auto museum at the Riverside if you are into antique autos.
Concur on the Aquarius as a must. We like the Vineyard Ristorante at the Aquarius for dining and you can eat outside before it gets too warm.
The Pioneer is worth going to if you like the old Vegas feel of places.

Enjoy

Don't go to the Edgewater. The machines are old and dirty.

I like the Aquarius and the Tropicana. The Trop has a live band in the lounge every evening, which plays a pretty good mix of music, and there is a small dance floor.

There is nothing to see on the drive from Vegas to Laughlin. It's just endless desert, very boring. Terribles at Searchlight is a good place to stop for a "pit stop." Has a small casino and bar, and a store that sells groceries and souvenirs.
I think the Vineyard at the Aquarius is the best restaurant in town.
From the "Everyone Has An Opinion Category": The two best restaurants in Laughlin are The Gourmet Room at Riverside and The Range at Harrahs. The Gourmet Room offers happy hour with a nice view of the river and mountains thanks to an all-window wall.
