Lets Have a Baseball Debate

No, I haven't heard Marty Brenneman for a long time, maybe he's different now. But you gotta admit Bailey's weird.

Still, I'll put Dave Simms and Ken Harrelson up there among the homerest homers of H-E-Double Homerville.
Vin Scully is a god among men. That is all.

Aside from the Yankees, only the Philadelphia Phillies managed to hit more home runs as a team than Ruth did as an individual, slugging 64 in hitter-friendly Baker Bowl."...
I don't know if it's still true, but as of a few years ago, the record lowest ERA for a lefty in the American League was held by...Babe Ruth.

Hubert Benjamin "Dutch" Leonard, (April 16, 1892 – July 11, 1952) was an American left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who had an 11-year career from 1913 to 1921, and 1924 to 1925. He played for the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers, and holds the major league modern-era record for the lowest single-season ERA of all time — 0.96 in 1914.

"But you gotta admit Bailey's weird"
Bailey is a bit off no douby about it.
If hits from Japanese professional baseball are allowed to be added to major league baseball totals, then at least AAA stats should be added also.

It would be outrageous to add either one.
One of the best ever....Mel Allen (if ya have to ask, you shouldn't be commenting on this subject)

No comment on Harrelson since I have never heard him.

Stirling & Waldheim the Yankee radio announcers are pretty bad. Try to find a recording of waldheims screaching orgasm when clemens came back from one of his retirements

You should give Hawk a listen. He has a bunch of catch phrases.

Stirling & Waldheim get a little homerish at time but they call the game pretty straight up. I mean, if a guy on the opposing team is pitching great they give him props.

I believe forkushV was referring to lifetime ERA and I don't know whether Babe Ruth has the record lifetime, but without a doubt he was a very good pitcher and missed out on another 200-300 home runs to his 714 total.

Also on Sunday afternoon...
