Lois Lerner.........non-Vegas topic

One more day and even more fun! Like magic, backup tapes likely containing Lerner's emails have been found. How can that be? Forkie, Chilly, and Malibber have told us many times about the exhaustive investigations conducted by Democrats, so this revelation shocks me.

Everyone on this site knows that the IRS was being instructed by the White House on this targeting project, and it's so much fun watching things unravel.

Tapes? Seriously, are tapes still in use? Just askin'.
This is great news. I truly hope all of Lois Lerner's emails are recovered.

But what is Boilerman's response going to be when none of the emails implicate any White House meddling in the "targeting affair" (the one where Obama allegedly ordered the IRS to target his own fundraising operations as well as republicans)?

Will our resident conservatives admit they were wrong...or will they take a play from Bengazhi and just move to a new conspiracy theory? I'm anxious to find out.

If Lerner's emails are recoverable (ie if Democrats were unable to destroy all of the evidence) and no one goes to jail, I'll admit that I was wrong and apologize. That's not gonna happen, and this is so much fun. If there is no guilt, why the cover up?

PJ, if your tax information was on a HD that crashed and told the IRS you didn't have any backup copies. You would be fined and possibly jailed.

The Congress called for the IRS and Learner to turn over the emails, if they knew they did not have them, then why wait so long. At some point, these delays appear to be stonewalling which means someone is hiding/trying to destroy something that could get them in trouble. You know as well as I do if this happened during the prior administration, the press and the Democrats would be wanting Bush's head on a platter.

I think its adorable how you keep denying history. It did happen in the prior administration...and that statement is not based on a phony, baseless story that Democrats made up to scare their kids at Halloween. Its a matter of public record. And the fact that people like you shrug that off while demanding justice for something you have no evidence of just makes it that much more hilarious.

PJ, why in the World would the IRS head tell Congress that they would turn over Lois Lerner's emails when they know "believed" that they didn't have them. I have an idea.........they needed to buy time to go through what needed to be destroyed and what didn't.

Does PJ have ANY thoughts on why the delays?

Oh come on. We're talking about one of the biggest entrenched federal bureaucracies there is. You don't have to assume anything nefarious to explain why the head of that organization has no clue about details of employee emails. You don't have to assume an illegal cover-up and intentionally destroying data to explain delays. It's the Federal Government. The top management is clueless and everything is slow. Duh. WTF do you expect? Jiffy Lube? Well that might be nice when we pay our taxes, but you can bet an investigation of the IRS is going to be anything but Jiffy Or Lubricated. And in my opinion it's much more likely to show incompetence than criminal conspiracy to destroy evidence.

The center of the investigation is Lerner, and the head of the IRS couldn't find out the status of here emails on a PC. Sorry, I don't buy it and nor do you.

How could you possibly know what I buy or don't buy? You've obviously never dealt with the Federal Government. I doubt the head of the IRS could find his own ass....even if he had written instructions. Never assume a criminal conspiracy when gross incompetence is also a possibility. It makes you look like a wing nut.
