Looking Down At Your Palm!

That's what everyone seems to be doing these days. Naturally there's an I-phone, Smart Phone or whatever is held in your palm. Just look around you when you're walking down the street or shopping in a store. Everyone is looking down at their palms instead of looking where they are going.

Just Friday I was getting ready to walk into the Vista courthouse and I noticed a young gal walking from the parking lot to the courthouse. First, she was almost run over by a car because she was "reading" her text messages. Then when she got to the curb.....she tripped over it almost falling on her face. You'd think that would've been her wake up call, but no, she kept on reading the messages. She looked up briefly to see that the courthouse door was open.....but not for long. She put her head down again and walked right into the closing door. GEEZ!!!!

Is this what our society is coming to......walking around with their heads down reading their palms? Really....just look around as you walk around doing your daily chores.....unless of course.....your head is down reading your palm!
And what does that have to do with Sharlene or "The Laptop"?????????????????????????????????????????

People look so idiotic. The funniest is a table of mom, dad, kids all engrossed in their individual i-phones. Or a couple. But, free country and all that.
A couple of days before Christmas we went to one of the top rated steakhouse's in the country. I almost choked when a family of five sat next to us and two of the teenage kids pull out their phones and start texting. I mean at the cost of that meal, especially for a group of five, you would think dad would have made them stop and have a family conversation.

My biggest pet peeve. I will sit in directors meetings or other meetings and see people looking down and not at who is speaking. They are fooling no one.

Sometime back, there was a lady who was walking in a mall and looking down at her device. She walked into the edge of a fountain pond and went in. She sued the mall. I don't know the outcome of the case, but she is lucky I wasn't on that jury.
She is lucky that she wasn't at the Grand Canyon !

I saw that vid too, pretty funny. She didn't sue the mall for having a fountain hazard she sued them for releasing the security video to the public making her look foolish. Don't know the outcome but I don't think the vid is out there anymore.

EDIT TO ADD: Found the vid

I find it disgusting how everyone just can't put their phones away. Get a life people - our society is just

going down the tubes and what a damn shame.

It was a U.S. Senate hearing on whether to launch a military attack against Syria. From the photo's caption:

Senator John McCain plays poker on his IPhone during a U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearing where Secretary of State JohnKerry, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey testify concerning the use of force in Syria, on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, Tuesday, September 3, 2013. I guess war's just not an important enough matter for Sen. McCain to bother paying attention. Inexcusable!
