I just stayed at the Tropicana last October. They indeed will match anything you have ANYWHERE. I believe that offer caps out near $2k. You must scan it to them, for them to see it first. Also, they were excellent with food comps. Your host will automatically put a daily dollar amount on your account.
As far as eats go the BISCAYNE STEAK, SEA AND WINE is excellent and I mean excellent. We ate there both nights. Over the two nights we had ribeye, filet mignon, Koby Burger & fries and porterhouse. All were outstanding. If you don't have upfront comps a good way to keep the price down is tix4tonight. They offer a 50% off main entree for $3. For the second night we had reservations at Bacio Pasta & Vino but after our excellent meal at Biscayne we cancelled but I hear it's also excellent. At Biscayne our server was Steve, he is from Hawaii and one of the best servers we've ever had. He was very helpful when ordering and his knowledge of wine blew me away and would bring out samples for me to try.
The suites are a true one bedroom, not this open doorway like at Silverton. I get up before my husband so it's nice to have a living room where I can make my coffee and watch TV and not wake him up.
I forgot your host is now there, Joanie. Rick is also there ( I absolutely love him! ) Rick wrote a comp for the mob attraction, which was nice if free but, something you would not want to pay for.
Wherever you end up staying, start the New Year out right and hit some royals!
