The M, Red Rock, or Green Valley for next year boys trip

As some of you know, I organize an annual Vegas trip with about a dozen friends. Over the past 30 years, we've generally stayed Center Strip, but we've also visited the Golden Nugget downtown and 7 years ago enjoyed the Red Rock. The Red Rock was great, but it was somewhat restaurant and bar limited. I understand they have added more dining and drinking options, and that the surrounding area has developed and a short walk offers more stuff. Does Red Rock still offer poolside blackjack with great looking dealers and waitresses?

I know little about Green Valley and the M, but I'm willing to listen and learn. Preferences in order of importance for the group.

1. Hotel accommodations and quality
2. Black jack and casino
3. Eating/drinking options (would prefer to only walk)
4. The pool is of minimal importance, although we will visit there once for a few hours.
5. Travel time to the strip is understood and of minimal importance.

I'm leaning towards Red Rock, but can certainly be swayed. I'm quite interested in anyone who can tell me of Red Rocks evolution the past 7 years since my last visit.

Thanks.
Green Valley even though the Red Rock casino is a little plusher.

1. Closer to the strip
2. Big shopping mall with restaurants next door
3. Not as stranded as Red Rock
Being closer to the strip is not important to us, as will travel there only once or not at all. Being stranded is not relevant, although surrounding eating/drinking options is important. Shopping is either of ZERO importance or somewhat less than ZERO importance.

Stranded means nothing of importance nearby and it is VERY far from the strip. The mall also has restaurants in it.

Thanks for the thought, but since we're not going to the strip, distance to the strip is not relevant to my situation. Surrounding eating options is important, however.

I prefer the M Resort for gaming but the dining options are very limited if you are staying on property more than a day. The Shops at Summerlin are now open near Red Rock and give you added dining options. I would probably stick with Red Rock unless you want a change of pace. Green Valley is nice but lacks the plush feel of Red Rock. They also have a few restaurants closed now due to renovation.
That's very helpful information. Thanks.

Well if you do make it Red Rock, I love the sports book, the burger place, and Zowie Bowie plays there on weekends. It is much plusher looking than Green Valley. I have never stayed overnight. My only overnight stay at Green Valley ended up being a major upgrade to a huge suite, so I don't know how to compare rooms.
The M is in the middle of nowhere

Green Valley is more developed and has more nearby dining options

Not very familiar with Red Rock
I'd say all 3 places have a player friendly casino which is a PRO. Id also say all 3 places can be a little too sleepy which is a CON.

-I haven't been to Red Rock since the first year it opened so I wont speak too much about it. I recall it being beautiful but a little boring. More workers than customers when I went.
- I used to be a big fan of the "M" but the buffet went down hill, and the offers/comps went downhill, and it seems like I'm always the only person in there under the age of 80. I've skipped it the last few trips.
- Its been 2 years since I visited GVR. GVR has a Capriotti's on site which is enough to make me give it a thumbs up. But again...it can be really slow sometimes.

The best locals casinos to play tend to be ones where you would not want to stay at IMO. Example: I love the energy and low limit games at Texas Station but I would never stay there. If I had to name one off strip place that combines great rooms and a fun casino I would answer "The Palms".
