Man Steals $33 Million from Australian Casino
Before anyone else says it,.......

Did he use the missing laptop?

Wondering what game in a casino could you possibly "see" the cards to your advantage by hacking the security cameras as the article states.

Baccarat, the favorite game of "whales" is where this scam must have taken place.

The only way this could be pulled off is that a high level casino employee or two was in on the scheme.

They prepared the eight decks used in the baccarat game very carefully beforehand to know exactly which side was going to win each and every deal.

Somehow they then get this prepared "shoe" into the casino, and then have a casino accomplice switch this shoe into the game at some point when the security cameras are hacked.

The cheating player then knows which side will win the next 80 or so decisions.

Like taking candy from a baby. Dumb casino as well and deserves to take the loss.

This cheating tactic is not new..The casino needs to invest in technology that alerts the bosses if rogue, illicit cards are being used at these high limit tables.
OFF KILTER, are you serious? You obviously are not aware of new casino technology.
Your version would not have the hacking involved which was THE REASON the guy was able to pull off the scam.
Many tables now have card readers on the shoe. It reads every card as it is being dealt.
This most likely happened at high stakes BJ.

One could count cards in 21 very easily and accurately with this scheme.

Thats a pretty specific account of what happened given the very little information the article provides about how the scam was carried out.

How would a surveillance view help with beating blackjack? Their view can't capture the dealer's hole card unless it has x-ray vision I'm not aware of. It would help with counting cards, but there is no way a player can get away with winning $33 million counting cards. Maybe a surveillance view could help with shuffle tracking, but that seems like a huge stretch. A hidden camera around table level would work much better I think. It's silly to speculate on how the scam operated unless the casino provides more information which is unlikely to happen.
I just watched the video with the article and heard where this all happened over 8 hands. Who's to say that there was even cheating involved with that few hands. Maybe the casino is just upset that they risked and lost that much money.
It was at a high stakes poker game. So he didn't rob/scam only the casino, he did it to other players.

Hmmm. OZ seems pretty lax about stealing. The guy stole 33 million all they did was toss him out of his room.

That is some poker game.
