In 33 years as a firefighter I ran many a call due to alcohol, meth, and the big enchilada Oxy. I never ran a call because of pot. Oxy is the Quaaludes of todays generation, it needs to be outlawed IMHO.
Pot, would make me paranoid and I would be happy to sit at home and watch "The Price is Right". Booze would make me want to go out and interact. Becoming loud, obnoxious, arrogant, belligerent, studly,(in my mind), also ten foot tall and bullet proof. I partake of neither these days. I may retire this year and entertaining the thought of trying some of this "new" grass after retirement.

How much is it on the "streets" per ounce. Everywhere else that is.

I'm pretty certain an ounce of really good weed goes for more than the 260 just quoted. I remember way back when 35-40 an ounce was standard pricing. I remember someone telling me 10 or 15 years ago what an ounce cost and I was floored, I'll have to check current what the current price is, I'm curious to know now.
I'll get back to the thread.

All I can do is post what I find... In this case the priceofweed.com is back up and lists this for Colorado:

https://www.priceofweed.com/prices/United-States/Colorado.html

Quality Average ($/Oz.)* Sample Size
High Quality $236.31 2161
Medium Quality $195.5 1726
Low Quality $213.5 128

How stoned to do you have to be to say "well, I'd really like some of that medium quality stuff but I can't afford it so just give me the cheap chit".

(The listed price is a little bit less in California).

HAHA, that's hilarious, like something out of a harold and kumar movie.

I apologize if it sounded like I was questioning your reported pricing, for all I know it could be spot on, I was just saying I thought it may be more based on how taken aback I was on the rapid rise in the price, I think 250 was the last price I had heard 10 or 15 years ago, I was assuming the price has risen since then. Again my apologies sir

J

you were buying Mexican crap for $40 an ounce. Good bud was $10 a gram back in 1983.
No offense taken Jatki, and no apology needed. The article I found could have been old or an aberration, and it did seem somewhat low to me as well.
It looks like Colorado the stores in Colorado are limiting sales to 1/8 of an ounce because they are expecting a shortage. The price for 1/8 ounce is $35.00 - $50.00.

I have been told that the pot of today is a whole lot stronger than it was is the 1970's. It had better be at those prices. If I ever get to Colorado I just might try it to see what all of the hoopla is about.

CNN has a good story about the first days sale here https://www.cnn.com/2013/12/31/us/colorado-recreational-marijuana/index.html?hpt=us_c1
The stores that had their recreational licenses today had long lines all day.

While the commercial recreational sale of marijuana is legal in the state of Colorado, cities and counties have to allow it before anyone can open a store and obtain a license. So far, that ability is pretty limited. Not all communities that have MMJ dispensaries now have agreed to allowing recreational sales within their communities. I suspect more cities and counties will join in when they see the opportunity to increase their sales tax base.

1/8th ounce has been the most common quantity sold for medicinal MJ here, typically $25-$40 per, depending on the strain. From what I've seen, the stores getting the recreational licenses, for the most part, already had medicinal licenses, so they already had their own grow sources.
