Never said it was a top three. My apoligies if that was implied. I was only suggesting that maybe a place to try if you wanted to gamble since the odds are better than on the strip. I do like others suggestions on the top three though.

Nonetheless I hope he has a great time and a great birthday!

As a first timer, I would casino hop to see what each place is like. Do a little research and see what restaurants are available that suit your tastes. These boards are a wonderful starting point.

If you are a gambler, the seeing the sights may not be as important to you.

Fremont St at night I think is a must see. I also recommend going to the observation deck at the Stratosphere at sundown to watch the lights on the strip come on. as for MUST do's make sure you sign up for a players club card at every casino you go to so you get great offers for your next trip. I always tell people "the first thing you will do when getting home after your first trip to Vegas is begin to plan your next trip to Vegas!" I hope you have a great time, take lots of pics, and post a trip report on here!

Oh absolutely sams town, skip Bellagio fountains if you must. No first time experience is complete without standing in the oppressive heat waiting on a shuttle to take you out to the middle of the desert to ..a..another casino. Its a must do.

Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris at Sunset and watch Bellagio Fountains.
For a first- timer, they may enjoy the Jubilee show at Ballys. I agree Bellagio fountains and the conservatory are a must along with Freemont Street.
You may want to sign up for some player cards as you walk through the different casinos and play a little to start receiving promotions-
in case you fall in love with Vegas and want to come back. Hope you have a fun time!
