NFL 2 OT games fixed ??

Text

Last week, their were 2 NFL overtime games that had gamblers counting their winnings, or ripping up tickets, but an amazing change of events in the final seconds with the help of officials reversed the outcomes.

Last Thursday night in the Miami - Cincinnati game with the scored tied at 20- 20, and the under/ over in most sports books, and lines at 42 1/2. All the bettors who bet over, were counting their winnings, as they expected a game ending field goal to end it in OT, or a touchdown would give the over bettors their win, but a miracle safety by Miami ended the game , with Dolphins winning 22-20, only 42 point total, and Under. From the THrill of Victory to the Agony of defeat, or crying to celebrating in a split second.

The other OT game on Sunday saw San Diego take a 27-24 lead in the final seconds, and what looked like a sure win in a ( pick em game), but the referee reviewed the replay, and said it didn't cross over the goal line, and took the 6 off the board, and marked the ball on the 1 yard line, but SD could not punch it in on 3 attempts, and had to settle for a game tying field goal to send it into OT where Washington kicked a game ending field goal to win the game. 30-24 Two games that had changed, and ended in sketchy ways.

Were the games were fixed? Referees, and officials are aware of the oddsmakers lines before game time .
What do you think ? Football fans may have no clue what the lines, and point spreads are, but gamblers know them very well.
Can you imagine how many players and coaches would have to be in on the fix to follow this conspiracy?

And San Diego Chargers running back did not make it into the end zone. They got the call right, as much as I wanted to Woodhead to score as a member of my fantasy team.
People who make accusations ending in a question mark should be ignored. (Not you ck, but whoever wrote that.)
Actually, I firmly believe that there are games that are fixed every week, but these two weren't one of them. There definitely was a safety in the Dolphins game, and Woodhead did not score in the Charger game.

As far as fixes go, you only need the refs to take care of business. The way to stop the best player in the world is to make a holding call which brings the play back. To move even the worst team down the field, all you have to do is call pass interference. Did you see the call in the Charger game where they called PI on the Charger cornerback who didn't even touch the receiver. Even the announcers point out what a bad call it was. And wouldn't you know it, neither of the penalties are subject to instant replay.

Whenever you have billions of dollars at risk, there is business being done whether it be the NFL, oil companies or banks. Simple as that.

I actually like the games that go down to the last play, or OT. You get more excitement out of your wager.

The guys who make the lines are just so good at what they do to keep the final score close to the line.

What about that Patriots game in OT a few weeks ago ?

A penalty for PUSHING ?????
..... pushing a member of your own team during a field goal attempt by the other team (which the Jets missed).

The result was a 15 yard penalty,
which placed the Jets close enough to score the field goal on this second attempt, and win the game.

BTW, this was the first time that this penalty was EVAH called in an NFL game.

It's a new rule and the Patriots tried to cheat. Again.

Problem with that theory is that the Jets had already covered the spread

"NFL 2 OT games fixed ??"

That would be a serious charge. Does casinokidd realize the NSA is recording every keystroke he makes?

NFL games are probably the most scrutinized in the world of sports

Every play in the NFL is reviewed in the NFL office by officiating supervisors (who are each assigned a position). A suspicious pattern of call/no calls would eventually be detected.

The officials are making over $100k each, plus pension and 401k benefits and bonuses for working the playoffs. Big financial loss if the official was to get caught
