NFL 2 OT games fixed ??

Man never walked on the moon.
The only shenanigans I have ever seen was in the 90's for a Monday Night Football game between Dallas and Philadelphia at Philadelphia. I was at a sports book in Reno. Philadelphia was ahead by 14 points at the very end of the game. The game total just before the end of the game was two points below the over/under line. Dallas was driving and was at fourth and goal.

Now being down 14 points, a team should be going for a touch down at the end of the game (less than half a minute left). They went for the field goal. The kicker missed it. If the field goal had been made, the over would have won.

I was wondering why there was no questioning of what was done. I have a feeling Jones radioed down to Jimmy Johnson and told him to go for the kick.
Game ending field goal? Wash 30 SD 24 I think not. A TD was scored, although that is not really relavent in making your point.
Not sure about the NFL but I am naming my next dog "WWE" cuz he will be fixed

Your correct Woodman. It was a game ending touchdown, but isn't it strange how the point spread
is effected in the final play in alot of games.
Most NFL games have a point spread of less than 7 points, so it is only natural for a late score to affect the spread

A penalty for PUSHING ?????
..... pushing a member of your own team during a field goal attempt by the other team (which the Jets missed).

The result was a 15 yard penalty,
which placed the Jets close enough to score the field goal on this second attempt, and win the game.

BTW, this was the first time that this penalty was EVAH called in an NFL game.

Rick

It's a new rule and the Patriots tried to cheat. Again.

You should also note that the Jets had done the same thing earlier in the game.
It was not an uncommon practice.

The Jets were just being whiny b@tches turning in someone else after they got away with it. Special things happen to those kind of people in prison.

wonder if Pete Rose bet on the Bengals game?
