Gee, roadtrip, does it have to be written down to be the right thing to do?

If you don't want to wait, go ahead and do what you want -- throw your money on the table, take your time placing your bets, change your bets a few times, ask the dealers questions, say striaght out "what happens if the shooter throws a 7". No one will arrest you.

In fact, "don't players" love to join craps tables mid roll. There was a gal at Caesars who for years would join the table the same way: from six feet away she would throw a green chip on the table and yell out "don't come."

That's when I yell "NO BET!!!!!" You have to be "at the table" to make a bet. If the floor wants to override me, so be it. Stinking flea.

Since Rayx and Money are casino dealers and stick men, ( or former ), and have seen way more many things happen than just us regular "players" at the tables.

Question: How many times a year does the fire bet pay off?

I would guess four points hits all the time. At least once or twice a day.

Five? Often enough as well? once a week?

All six? A few times a year?

I am just guessing and really have no clue except going by the odds..Hope one of the casino pros can give us some info...Thanks

I've never been a dealer. Just a player.
I've seen six point fire bet payoff only once -- at the Rio. I wasn't the shooter. LOL

I have seen many, many 5 point payoffs over the years. I personally have thrown three.

And I have seen many more four point payoffs.

However, with that said, fire bet pays (even just four numbers) I would say came maybe once in a hundred players. Though I was at a table where back to back shooters had five-point payoffs.

I do not play very much anymore as I cannot handle the second hand smoke too well the older I get.. I will still try and play for a brief time usually at 4am or so when the crowd is thinner and less chance of running into a smoker.

I always play the fire bet nowadays the few times a year I get to go and play. I started this a few years ago when I accidentally hit 5 numbers but had failed to make the $5 fire bet and got no payoff....The guy next to me hit it for $1,000 and flipped me a token $100 or so after the seven out.

Despite the long odds on the fire bet, it is still a better bet than trying to hit a royal at video poker. The six point fire bet hits about one in 6700 shooters, while a royal comes about once in about 40,000 hands.

I actually have a profit at the fire bet. I wish I had a profit playing craps overall.

However, I've gone ten visits to a casino without a fire bet payoff. But when they come, they pay big.
