No more craps etiquette at Caesars Palace

The dealers have new instructions in the craps pit: do not delay new players buying into the game, do not delay the shooter throwing the dice. And on Wednesday when a new player bought in during a hand, and the dice hit his hand as he was picking up chips, the table went ballistic.

I wrote about it on my website here: https://forum.alanbestbuys.com/showthread.php?2790-Meltdown-at-a-craps-table-at-Caesars

the bottom line is that the dealers won't look out for you. You have to wait and watch for money and chips being placed on the table -- as well as hands.
Slow your roll player...lol

This is the paragraph that you should read again and again...in your own words.

"5. I didn't look up to see the stack of chips or that the new player had his hand on the stack fumbling to pick them up and my dice were released. I should have seen what was going on and waited -- I knew damn well those chips were right in the center of the back wall where I aim my throw."
The deflection of the dice didn't cause the 7-out. But with craps players being be a superstitious bunch, the dealers need to make the players happy.
You're spot-on MoneyLA. When I was first learning the game at the Sahara years ago, one thing the dealer that took me under his wing made sure to teach me was etiquette. There are just some things you shouldn't do and entering the game during a roll is one of them. As you stated - at the very least, wait until a point is made and lay the money down and make the transaction (taking the chips off the table) as quickly as possible.

I actually had a situation at the Tropicana where I was doing quite well with the dice in hand and of course was taking care of The Boys on occasion. After making a couple points in addition to a few come bets, the dealers deliberately slowed the game down. I turn to my wife who was behind me watching and said, "Rhythm. Rhythm." She very clearly and loud enough to be noticed says "What? Oh...they're trying to mess up your rhythm." Most didn't blink an eye, but the stickman looked up quickly to the other side of the table. After three more rolls, I 7-out. I color up, take ALL my winnings and leave without another toke (something I'd normally never do after a winning session).

While your new player certainly didn't break any rules, he most certainly did something wrong.

It's kinda like golf...if you don't know the etiquette, you have no business playing on a busy table or course.

I am not siding with the idiot "new" player or the craps table workers, but the scenario you described would have never happened if you had waited for the idiot and the dealer to finish before you threw the dice. Granted, years ago the dealers would not have allowed the idiot to buy in after the dice had been given to the shooter. I am sure that the casino knows exactly what they are doing when they told the dealers to do what they did - they will do anything to throw a shooter off of their rhythm. My suggestion would be to never gamble at Caesars again. There are plenty of other casinos that allow a craps shooter to throw the dice without this kind of bullshit.

This is an unwarranted assumption.

There's two schools of thought on this. One is that if you start yelling at the dice, they will fear you and you can overcome the occasional hand deflection. The other is if you talk nicely to the dice, they will become your friend and will do every thing they can to prevent a 7 out. I yell at them.
I've hit some nice points, even with hard ways working, thanks to deflections.

And you actually think "rhythm" effects the laws of physics when it comes to dice? Have you tried spinning around three times between throws?
