Non-Vegas question

I am having a discusion on another forum and we need some un biased input. I ask here as this is the only other forum I look at and believe it to be a good cross section of people.
So the question.
Have you heard about the sailing accidents of late in California?
Without looking, just from memory, what have you heard?
Do you have any opinions about this?

There are no wrong answers.
Thanks for helping out. I will place a dollar VP bet in honor of each person who answers and tell you if you won.
No haven't heard.
Have no opinion.

Where doI pick up my VP winnings ???
Some people died sailing. Saw the hed, didn't read the article.
Umm, . . . DonDiego read a headline a day or two ago about some yacht hitting a larger vessel, . . . and folks on the yacht dying. He didn't read the story itself.

DonDiego opposes such incidents.

Quite honestly I don't remember any details but something about some kind of sailing accident during a yacht race or something like that was all I can remember.
Haven't heard anything. Don't watch the news much, though.

ditto.
I think i may have seen or heard something about it, but I sure wouldn't lay any money on it or anything.

Aloha, I have heard nothing here in Hawaii.

Aloha
I have heard of two racing yacht accidents - both involving deaths. Collision with larger ships suspected - which, being a yachtsman I find hard to believe - unless everyone climbed into their bunk and went to autopilot.
