ObamaCare NOT working as planned

When Republicans obstruct progress without offering an alternative it costs jobs. And a Republican Mayor in North Carolina says it will also cost lives.

Republican Mayor in rural North Carolina pleads for Medicaid Expansion

Mayor O'Neal said, "This is an issue of life or death and we are actually going to have people start dying in rural North Carolina if we don't do something about rural healthcare here and not excepting the expansion of Medicaid is causing problems in rural North Carolina with the hospitals that are already struggling to get by."

The town of Belhaven is working to take over Vidant Pungo Hospital, which was slated to close and be replaced with a health clinic

Government only slows business, and Obama is outstanding at this.

Another government giveaway doesn't expand business. Obama does a wonderful job of taking a dollar from one group and giving it to another group in the form of two quarters.

"WE are actually going to have people start dying in rural North Carolina if we don't do something..."

My emphasis on WE, because that is how politicians pose it...WE are responsible for the medical needs of the single 38 year-old 400 lb diabetic woman with five kids who depends on a government check for groceries which include her cigarettes.

Last time I knew of, the death rate on this planet is 1 per person. It happens, sooner or later.

Humans gotta learn that no PROGRAM can save them, be it Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, without their participation, i.e. wellness behaviors early on and continuing through life.

Humans can avoid or reduce their risk of Morbid Obesity--yes, that is an official medical diagnosis and it makes everything else you may acquire 50 x more difficult to treat.

The older we get, the harder it is to avoid piling on weight...this is not new information. We have to...MAKE THE EFFORT...eat less or differently...MOVE, walk, do something. Help somebody else do something, which helps mitigate the effects of clinical depression.

Raise children to
- not EXPECT government assistance for every facet of life;
- be active (computer games won't do it);
- minimize sweet treats including sodas;
- do good in school, plan to learn a trade or profession;
- respect teachers no matter what;
- avoid teen pregnancy (remember abstinence? condoms?);
- understand the health consequences of smoking (lung cancer, kidney failure, amputations to name just a few).

Certainly even healthy folks want and need certain health care services.
But, health has to start at home, individual responsibility.

I take neither side--Dem, Rep, liberal, conservative.
Who can logically and accurately determine their agendas anymore?

Insurance firms participating in New York’s ObamaCare health exchange are seeking double-digit hikes for patient medical premiums in 2015, new figures reviewed by The NY Post reveal.

The average hike sought by insurers for individual plans is 12 percent—but a number of firms serving large numbers of patients want to boost individual premiums by nearly 20 percent.

Leading the charge is Excellus Health Plan, which is seeking to sock more than 24,000 customers with a 19.7 percent hike.

The even larger MVP Health Plan, with nearly 33,000 customers, is seeking a 19 percent boost.
While a number of smaller plans put in for lesser increases or, in a number of cases, decreases, Health Republic Insurance of New York — the largest on the exchange with more than 68,000 members — requested a 15.2 percent increase for individual plans.

The proposed rate increases call into question one of the goals of the Affordable Care Act — curbing runaway health-care costs.
In some letters to customers, insurers cited requirements in ObamaCare as contributing to the proposed rate increases.

Oops
Liberals across America (and certainly on this site) will change their tune from "Obamacare is going to save American's a bunch of money" to "Obamacare is costing a shit load, but it's worth it."
While everybody was celebrating the holiday Obama and company released 1,200 pages of new regulations on obamacare.
Obama has a pen, and he's using it to replace Congress. I also believe he will simply ignore the Supreme Court, which most Liberals will have no argument with.

Every single president since Benjamin Harrison has issued more executive orders.

But you know me, always saying "But Benjamin Harrison did it!"

It's not how many, but which ones. God help you.

Obama is using the massive expansion of Medicaid as hoopla for the ACA's "success". Let's look at the numbers in Harry Reid's state. There were 118,000 new signups expected on Oct. 1st. They wanted 60,000 new Medicaiders and 58,000 who actually paid for a plan..25% of whom were needed to be young & healthy to pay for the aged and sick. (Gee, I wish I were 25 so I could buy a plan I didn't need just so it would help out the insurance companies pay for the old sick people).

Now, it seems the exec. director of that state's exchange has been fired, the website designer/exchange operator Xerox has been terminated, and only 38,000 people signed up, more than 2/3rds of which are these new Medicaid system-suckers.

Good job Harry.
